Reviews: Go Raw Snacking Crisps and Kodiak Mini Drizzle Bars

Go Raw Snacking Crisps

Seed-based snack brand Go Raw has launched a line of organic crackers in four flavors – Rosemary Olive Oil, Hot Honey, Chili Crunch and Sea Salt. The gluten-free, quarter-sized crisps are made with sprouted pumpkin and sunflower seeds, sprouted buckwheat, sesame seeds, puffed amaranth and quinoa, and seasonings. One serving has 6 grams of plant-based protein and 3 to 4 grams of fiber, depending on the variety.

Things that stand out:

  • In a consumer landscape shaped by label scrutiny, Go Raw is threading the needle between functional nutrition, ingredient transparency and mainstream flavor appeal.
  • The product lends itself to a variety of use occasions, from cheese boards and “girl dinners” to a crunchy topping on soups or salads.

Things to consider:

  • The texture is dense and a bit dry with a slight earthy flavor that may be polarizing to some consumers.
  • The term “snacking crisps” is descriptive but generic, risking blending into the broader cracker aisle rather than owning a sharper identity.
  • The product photography on the packaging showcases the seed and grain inclusions but may resemble bird food to some shoppers. Photography featuring a dip or cheese pairing could help cue indulgence and usage versatility.

Kodiak Mini Drizzle Bars

High-protein food platform Kodiak recently introduced a new mini version of its chewy bars, complete with an icing drizzle in two flavors: Brown Sugar Cinnamon and Blueberry Lemon. The bars offer 100 calories and 5 grams of protein and are made from 100% whole grains.

Things that stand out:

  • The flavor comes through really well, and the drizzle on top makes this work both for a breakfast bar and mid-day sweet treat.
  • Like all Kodiak products, the bars’ whole grains and protein content make this an attractive proposition for consumers.

Things to consider:

  • The texture is much lighter and airier than expected, and the bar begins to crumble when bit into. A denser formulation would make this feel more substantial and produce a better mouthfeel.
  • Inclusions of ingredients such as pea protein isolate, wheat protein isolate and milk protein isolate may be perceived as deceptive by consumers as this is positioned as a natural, high-protein snack bar.
