Expo West 2023: New Products From Goodles, Rob’s Backstage Popcorn and Mason Dixie
Next week brands and entrepreneurs from across the CPG industry will soon come together at Natural Products Expo West to highlight their latest product innovations along with new technology and trends. Both NOSH and BevNET will have ongoing coverage over the coming days, but here’s a quick preview of just some of the new releases from exhibiting brands, including Goodles, Rob’s Backstage Popcorn and Siete.
Mason Dixie (Booth #5528)
Mason Dixie has announced the launch of several new products, all slated to debut at Whole Foods Markets in May. Available in Maple and Apple varieties, a new frozen, fully-cooked Leige Waffle will retail for $6.99 per four-pack. Meanwhile, frozen Leige Waffle Sandwiches will feature the addition of chicken sausage and retail for $6.99 each. The company is also debuting a new format of its signature frozen biscuits, at an SRP of $5.99 which will only require a few seconds in a microwave, versus the current offering, requires up to 30 minutes in the oven. The new products will be available at Whole Foods Market in May.
Goodles (Booth #N1833)
Better-for-you mac & cheese maker Goodles has expanded its portfolio with the addition of a Noodles line. Available in three shapes – Curveballs (pipette), Lucky Penne and Loopdy-Loos (cavatappi) – each serving is packed with prebiotics, 10 grams of protein and 7 grams of fiber The noodles, packaged in Pantone’s color of the year (Viva Magenta), will be available on the brand’s website beginning on March 15.
Fair & Square (Booth #F31)
California-based gut-friendly cracker brand Ancient Provisions has rebranded as Fair & Square. The brand’s crackers are made with green banana flour, a nutrient dense flour “with a mild nutty flavor that’s packed with prebiotic resistant starch.” Fair & Square crackers are available direct-to-consumer via the brand’s website for $6.49 per 4 oz. box or $1.99 per single-serve 1 oz. bag.
Cedar’s (Booth #951)
Cedar’s has expanded its lineup of Mediterranean-inspired hummus and dips with the addition of Grecian Golden Hour, Hot Honey and Pumpkin flavors. Grecian Golden Hummus will be available at Whole Foods Market and Sprouts in April for a suggested retail price of $4.49. The topped organic Hot Honey hummus will be available exclusively at Kroger from May through December with a suggested retail price of $4.49.
Siete (Booth #N318)
Better-for-you American-Mexican food brand Siete announced the launch of three new Maiz Totopos varieties: Blue Corn, Sea Salt and Lime. The corn tortilla chips will hit Whole Foods Market, Sprouts Farmers Market and H-E-B shelves on a rolling basis beginning in March. The chips will join Siete’s existing salty snack lineup, which includes nine varieties of grain-free tortilla chips and six flavors of kettle cooked potato chips.
Country Archer (Booth #5521)
Country Archer unveiled its newest product innovation, Zero Sugar Smoked Sausages, which will compliment its line of single-serve meat sticks. Available in two flavors at launch – Original and Fuego – each sausage boasts 9 grams of protein, contains zero sugar and has 100 calories. The sausages, which are sold in a 4oz bag of 8 sausages, are made from a combination of 100% natural pork and grass-fed and -finished beef.
Daily Crunch (Booth #N336)
Daily Crunch expanded its lineup of nut snacks with the addition of Dill Pickle and Pepitas Sprouted Nut Medley and Pomegranate Rose Sprouted Nut Medley. The two new flavors join the existing Daily Crunch product line, which includes Original, Cherry Berry, Golden Goddess, Cacao + Sea Salt and Nashville Hot varieties.
TiNDLE (Booth #1105)
TiNDLE announced the release of a retail-ready line of plant-based chicken productsincluding Nuggets, Patties, Popcorn, Tenders and Wings. Formerly only served in a limited number of food service locations, the retail line is “designed to bring the same elevated restaurant experience into home kitchen,” according to the brand. Before the products hit store shelves, TiNDLE is offering a preview of these new products in curated meal kits sold on Goldbelly.
Rob’s Backstage Popcorn (Booth #8515)
Rob’s Backstage Popcorn, a collaboration between chef Rob Garbowsky and singers The Jonas Brothers, announced the launch of a new flavor: Mumbai Nights. Crafted by Nick Jonas’ wife Priyanka, the salty snack features a blend of savory spices inspired by her home country, India. Priyanka’s Mumbai Nights is available on the brand’s site for $23.99 per 4-pack or at select retailers such as Albertsons and Walmart for a suggested retail price of $3.98 to $4.79 per 4 oz. bag.
Eat Just (Booth #5743)
Eat Just, Inc., maker of JUST Egg, has unveiled its newest product innovation: JUST Egg Meals. The debut flavor, Chili Crisp, features bites of JUST Egg, sugar snap peas, roasted red pepper and carrots mixed with a spicy sauce from Fly By Jing. Each serving has 9 grams of protein and is Non-GMO Project verified. JUST Egg meals are now available in the freezer section of Whole Foods Market nationwide for a suggested retail price of $7.99 to $8.99 per 12 oz. bag.
