Watch: Bob Burke’s Advice for Setting Goals in 2021

With 2020 almost in the rearview mirror, it’s time to take part in the annual tradition of setting New Year’s resolutions. While “picking up a new sport” or “learning how to make sourdough” may be personal goals for 2021, what are the entrepreneurial resolutions we should make in order to advance our businesses, the industry or to contribute to the food system as a whole?

It’s perhaps helpful to reframe resolutions as advice we give to ourselves for the coming year. And, at a time of outsourcing, the best possible resource NOSH could think of for this advice is Bob Burke. With a four-decade career, Bob is the co-author of Natural Products Field Manual and an outside director on the boards of Saffron Road, King Arthur Baking Co., Cali’flour Foods, Uncle Matt’s Organic and Halsa Foods.

In this session from NOSH Live Winter 2020, Bob recaps the changes the past year (and the Covid-19 pandemic) have brought to the natural foods industry, and advises brands what “resolutions” to set for the upcoming year. Pulling from his decades of experience, Bob helps viewers understand where to invest time, effort and budget in order to best capitalize on the post-pandemic trends, consumer habits and business practices that have become part of the industry.
