The cooking channel, website and platform looked at recipes and news stories to determine what they believe will take off in 2016. This trend, they say, is largely grounded in the Millennial focus on blurring lines between high and low end food. So, for example, street tacos done with higher end products. At the same time, this consumer group wants meals made easy and convienent, which is leading to a rise in frozen foods and meal kits that embody this concept. The question is if this trend will continue as Millennials get older and have families of their own. Will their children continue to have a global palate or will they revert to chicken nuggets and french fries?
