Sweets & Snacks: New Products From Ferrara, Stuffed Puffs, Welch’s & More
Continuing with our Sweets & Snacks Expo 2025 coverage, here’s a look at some of the hottest new treats that we spotted on the show floor this week, including Ferrara’s first foray into the freeze-dried candy space, Stuffed Puffs and Warheads’ takes on gummy clusters and Spritzal’s new shortbread flavor.
Welch’s
Welch’s has expanded its lineup of fruit snacks with the addition of Juicefuls Fusions. The new offering features a chewy fruit snack outside and a liquid inside. Spritzal
Massachusetts-based better-for-you cookie maker Spritzal Cookie Company is expanding its portfolio with the addition of a Brownie Chocolatey Chip flavor. The new cookie is crafted with just six ingredients and is free from seed oils, preservatives and artificial dyes. Nebula Snacks
Bean-to-bar zero-sugar chocolate bites maker Nebula Snacks unveiled two new flavors: Cosmic Caramel and Coconaut Blast. The former features a vegan salted caramel core made with allulose and coconut cream and contains 8 grams of fiber per serving. The latter has a white chocolate coconut cream core with toasted desiccated coconut flakes enveloped in the brand’s signature 73% organic dark chocolate shell. SweeTARTS, Lemonhead, and Spree
Ferrara is the latest confectionery giant to jump on the freeze-dried candy craze, with the upcoming release of SweeTARTS Freeze Dried, Lemonhead Freeze Dried and Spree Freeze Dried. According to Katie Duffy, VP of global brands at Ferrara, the company wanted to ensure the candy format was here to stay before developing its own freeze-dried product. Nerds
Nerds Gummy Clusters, which generated $259 million in sales in 2022, are getting a new limited-edition flavor: Cherry Lemonade Blitz. The LTO is slated to launch in the fall, timed to the start of the NFL season. For more information, visit nerdscandy.com/home.
Warheads
Warheads took to the show floor to showcase Warheads Cubes Chaos, which appears to be the brand’s own twist on the aforementioned Nerds Gummy Clusters. Joyride
Joyride, which “relaunched” last year, unveiled its latest product innovations: Sour Smacks, Gummy Busters and Sour Worms. The new offerings feature 8-10 grams of sugar and 5-8 grams of fiber per serving, depending on the variety. All three SKUs are available on the brand’s website for $30 per 6-pack of 3.5 oz. bags. 1UP Candy, the breakout brand from venture studio VO/D, unveiled its latest non-chocolate candy: Crunchy Sour Strips. Available in four flavors – Rainbow, Blue Raz, Green Apple and Strawberry – the freeze-dried candy “takes the classic chewy treat and transforms it into a crispy snack that delivers a dynamic sour pop followed by a smooth, fruity melt,” according to the brand. Reese’s
Reese’s has taken inspiration from a lunchbox favorite for its newest release: Reese’s PB&J Big Cup. Available in two flavors – Grape and Strawberry – the new treat is “everything you love about PB&J, just with less bread and more chocolate,” the brand claims. Juicy Drop
Bazooka Brands, which prides itself on interactive candy experiences, has announced two innovations in its Juicy Drop lineup: Juicy Drop Gummy Mystery Cube and Juicy Drop Mashups. The former – available in Original and Wild Berry variety packs – features an outer gummy cube that, when peeled back, reveals a 3D animal-shaped gummy. The latter – available in Knock Out Punch, Blue Rebel and Watermelon Blast – includes sweet chewy sheets and sour crunchy candies in two sour intensity levels. Snack Pack
One of Conagra Brands’ many new innovations at the show was Snack Pack Dove Dark Chocolate Pudding Cups. The new flavor features three kinds of cocoa and twice the amount of milk as regular Snack Pack pudding for a smoother, silkier texture. Stuffed Puffs
Stuffed Puffs, which was acquired by Mount Franklin Foods last year, introduced Stuffed Puffs Gummy Fuzions. Sharing the same sweet-treat-with-a-surprise-center concept as the original Stuffed Puffs, Gummy Fuzions feature a sour fruity center covered in soft gummy candy and wrapped in a crunchy or sour coating.
