The frozen entrees category is seeing a slowdown in dollar and unit sales with frozen meals seeing a larger decline while frozen pasta remains flat.

When looking at the category as a whole by protein value per serving, we see that those that have 15 to 19g protein as well as those in the 20 to 24 g protein range, are seeing a positive change in attribute share. Those in the 0.5 to 4g protein range are also seeing a minor increase. Consumers seem to be gravitating to this sweet spot in terms of protein amount.

Global and heritage brands dominate the market through their ability to introduce innovation while also meeting the taste and convenience profiles sought after by shoppers. Why? Convenience allows for easy adoption of new concepts and tastes, and younger shoppers are driving consumption in these areas.
