Organic pioneer known for four times the nuts teams up with Next In Natural and sister brand Chameleon Cold Brew to rethink the morning cup
Brooklyn, NY, September 30, 2026 – Three Trees, the organic plant-based milk and milk tea brand known for using up to four times more nuts and seeds and none of the gums, oils or fillers, has joined the Next In Natural family of better-for-you brands. Next In Natural, the Brooklyn-based emerging brand platform, acquired Three Trees and will put its full team behind the brand's super-premium products. The deal marks the platform's first step into plant-based dairy.
Three Trees began in founder Jenny Eu's kitchen in 2012. The idea came from childhood walks through the forest with her grandmother, who taught her that the best foods come straight from nature. The name comes from the Chinese character for forest, which is made of three characters for tree. What started at San Francisco farmers' markets grew into a nationally loved brand built on a simple idea: more of the good stuff, nothing else. Three Trees' USDA Organic nut and seed milks froth like heavy cream and come with a natural cream top that shows they're the real thing. The brand has pioneered varieties like Black Sesame and Pistachio, and now its new Milk Teas.
Three Trees also gains a sister brand with a lot in common. Chameleon Cold Brew, the organic cold brew pioneer and fellow member of the Next In Natural family, shares the same quality-first roots. The two brands plan to explore collaborations built around the morning cup, pairing organic cold brew with plant milk that actually froths.
“I started Three Trees to make the kind of plant-based milk I wanted to feed my own family, with nothing to hide on the label,” said Jenny Eu. “Next In Natural's mission of helping make the world a better place, organically, really resonated with me. They share my obsession with best-in-class products and my respect for the people who carry and drink them. Their team will help put Three Trees in front of many more people who care about what's in their glass.”
Jeff Lichtenstein, CEO and Founder of Next In Natural, brings deep experience in natural and organic. As founder and CEO of Gourmet Guru, which was later acquired by UNFI, he advised and helped launch and scale brands like Chobani, La Colombe and Hu.
“Shoppers are reading labels more closely than ever, and Three Trees wins that test every time,” said Lichtenstein. “Our Original is two ingredients, organic almonds and water, with four times the almonds. That's not a marketing claim, it's the product. Three Trees was my family's go-to long before this deal. We're honored to carry Jenny's vision forward and share it with a lot more households.”
“Great coffee deserves great milk,” added Kristine Laurel, Chief Operating Officer at Next In Natural. “Three Trees and Chameleon were made for each other. Our shared marketing, R&D and business development teams let both brands scale symbiotically while keeping Jenny's quality-first mission front and center.”
