Winter Fancy Food Show 2020: Non-Dairy Innovations
At last week’s Winter Fancy Food Show in San Francisco, brands continued to innovate, offering plant-based and vegan options to classic dairy favorites, from spreads and sauces to chocolate and cheeses. Taza Chocolate
Taza Chocolate highlighted its new line of vegan and dairy-free chocolate bars made with almond milk and coconut sugar, in three varieties: Classic, Quinoa Crunch and Crunchy Cashew.
Esti
Mediterrean food brand Esti launched a line of dairy-free yogurt available in Vanilla, Chocolate and Plain flavors.
Honey Mama's
The latest flavor addition to Honey Mama’s line of dairy-free honey-sweetened Cacao-Nectar bars is Tahini Tangerine.
Nuttin Ordinary
Cashew cheese brand Nuttin Ordinary showcased its new dairy and soy free plant-based ravioli -- each serving contains 12 grams of protein.
Endangered Species Chocolate
Sustainably sourced chocolate brand Endangered Species Chocolate rolled out its new line of oat milk-based chocolate in three wildlife-inspired varieties: Zebra: Oat Milk + Dark Chocolate, Bee: Oat Milk, Sea Salt & Almonds + Dark Chocolate and Gorilla: Oat Milk, Rice Crisp + Dark Chocolate. The line is now available at Whole Foods.
Copper Cow Coffee
California-based Copper Cow Coffee highlighted its newly launched coconut creamer and debuted its Skinny Coco Pow coconut powder creamer with no added sugar.
Pastabilities
Children’s pasta brand Pastabilities’ latest offering is its Organic Vegan Mac ‘n Cheese line in Pasta Ruffles and Under the Sea shapes.
Bitchin Sauce
Savory dip maker Bitchin Sauce launched its first sweet dip line. The three offerings -- Salted Caramel, Chocolate and Apple Pie -- are all almond-based, vegan and gluten free.
Slingshot Foods
Slingshot Foods debuted Power Plant, a new breakfast line of non-dairy coconut and oat milk yogurt sold with a packet of crushed almonds, rolled oats and chia seeds.
Safe Harvest
Safe Catch showcased its Safe Harvest soup line, which debuted in October. An addition to the brand’s line of tinned seafood offerings, the soups include dairy-free clam chowder, salmon chowder and shrimp bisques, along with a grain-free and gluten-free chicken noodle soup.
The Coconut Collaborative
Dairy-free yogurt maker The Coconut Collaborative showcased its new coconut cream-based Dessert Pot line in Chocolate and Salted Caramel Chocolate flavors.
VGAN Chocolate
VGAN Chocolate showed its 5-SKU vegan dark chocolate line made with coconut cream and coconut sugar.
Good Planet Foods
Plant-based food brand Good Planet Foods debuted its new plant-based cream cheese, made from refined coconut oil and plant starches and free of the top eight allergens. The 7 oz. cups are available for a suggested retail price of $4.99.
Miyoko's Creamery
Plant-based brand Miyoko’s Creamery debuted a line of pepperjack and cheddar cheese slices, blocks and shreds.
Oatzarella
Nut and dairy-free cheese brand Oatzarella’s oat milk-based cheese wheels are made with steel cut oats and extra virgin olive oil, available in Original and Italian Herb varieties.
