Global information company NPD says the trend of spicy foods isn’t going anywhere. But, they believe, in 2016 companies will branch out beyond siracha and buffalo sauce to embrace global flavors, including Harissa and gochujang, and also start including spicy flavors beyond the standard products of wings, chips and jerkies. Chobani is already kicking off 2016 with a line of spicy greek yogurts. Does that mean spicy ice cream, candy and bars aren’t far behind?
