As our business and focus continues to grow in the Northeast, we are seeking a motivated and experienced District Sales Manager to manage coverage in the New England Market (MA, RI, NH, VT). This role is all about growth and the ability to seek out volume opportunities within the region to help meet and exceed annual sales goals. You will be held to a very high standard as the company focuses its sales efforts and attention into the region. 


The ideal candidate will be a team player and a proactive leader in the market who has the ability to make impactful decisions that create an opportunity for growth through both direct sales and distributor sales. You must be able to perform at a high-level in a remote sales environment---displaying self-disciplined time-management skills, attention to detail, and possess the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will be expected to be highly visible in your territory, traveling within the region 3-4 days a week to manage current business and seek out new opportunities. 


Primary Responsibilities and Requirements:

·     Develop and execute a strong regional sales strategy that drives velocity and profitability

·     Lead conversations and negotiate for best possible outcomes with retail and wholesale partners.

·     Manage and build a network of distributors, wholesaler partners and retailers

·     Broker Management—ability to utilize a broker network to its full potential and hold them accountable for results.

·     Retail management---both in-market and at HQ 

o  Current relationships at retail level and the ability to close new opportunities is critical in this role.

·     Experience selling into C-Store, Grocery, Natural and Food-Service channels

·     Strong Communication---regularly reporting to Regional Director, Sr. VP of Sales and the Executive Team.

·     Budget Management—strong understanding of margin management, pricing and promotion at retail.

·     P&L Management---ensuring we maintain profitability at all times

·     Ability to create and utilize a promotional calendar to coincide with marketing activations.

·     Read, Analyze/Interpret and present data (NIQ and Numerator)

·     Seek and close new opportunities in for VOLUME sales the market---finding alternative channels/accounts to increase sales

·     Attend industry events, trade-Shows & conferences.

·     Willing to cover full territory and assist in NY as needed for growth.


Qualifications/Preferences

  • 5 years of experience in beverage sales---- water industry experience preferred
  • Experience making calls at HQ level
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 50% (including overnight) within the territory and occasionally further to support company needs.
  • Experience working with our current national partners (UNFI, KEHE, CoreMark, McClane, Sysco, US Foods) is preferred
  • Relationships with retailers in the assigned territory in both Grocery and C-Store channels.
