Perhaps a carryover from the beverage world, which has long embraced florals and herb flavored beverages, The Specialty Food Association says 2016 will be the year floral flavors enter the food world and hit mainstream acceptance. Sofi Award Winner Masala Pop Saffron Rose Popcorn, Bissinger’s Blackberry Hibiscus Gummy Pandas and Vosges Haut-Chocolat Blood Orange Hibiscus Caramel Marshmallows launched at this past summer’s Fancy Food Show, and 2016 looks to be the year these flavors move from specialty foods (and grandma’s perfume) to the mainstream.
