Through this partnership, the condiment, which is produced exclusively in the Washington, D.C. metro area, will soon be provided in certain concourse and suite sauce pumps across FedExField.

Capital City is a celebrated Black woman-owned business operated by Arsha Jones, who was born and raised in Washington, D.C., where mambo sauce could be found at nearly every carryout restaurant. “As a DC native, the Commanders have been such a big part of the community, and I’m so excited to be partnering with them to grow Capital City’s brand,” said owner Arsha Jones. “This partnership speaks to the heart of DC, seamlessly intertwining the Commanders, their rich history and legacy in the area with our very own local staple that is mambo sauce.”

For those who may not be acquainted with it, this beloved kitchen staple has a rich history dating back to the 1950s and is an integral part of the Black culinary culture in Washington, D.C. Initially popularized by Black-owned chicken wing restaurants in the D.C. area, Arsha’s mission includes a commitment to safeguarding the genuine legacy and taste of mambo sauce, ensuring it endures for generations to come.

“This is more than just a partnership; it’s a celebration of what makes Washington, D.C. special,” said Joey Colby-Begovich, Washington Commanders Vice President of Guest Experience. “Capital City Mambo Sauce has not only delighted the taste buds of countless residents but also exemplified the spirit of innovation and community engagement.
