Reviews: Perfect Bar Protein + Prebiotics and Michele’s Granola Breakfast Nook

Perfect Bar Protein + Prebiotics
Fresh protein bar innovator Perfect Bar has paired protein with prebiotics to create a new iteration that better meets current consumer demand. The product, which contains 20 grams of protein and 3 grams of prebiotic fiber, has a low glycemic index and is made without sugar alcohols. The product launched exclusively direct-to-consumer and on TikTok Shop with retail distribution coming later this year.
Things that stand out:
- The positioning is spot on with consumers looking to stack functional benefits and a rising interest in clean label, fresh and convenient products.
- The bar features small crispy puffs that deliver an almost candy bar-like experience.
- With a unique color scheme compared to the rest of Perfect Bar’s lineup, this product clearly stands out.
Things to consider:
- While the product does have a small chocolate drizzle, calling the flavor Peanut Chocolate Crunch is a bit misleading, as the dominant flavor is peanut butter and the chocolate nearly gets missed.
- We would also love more flavors and formats for this line including minis as this bar is delicious but dense.

Michele’s Granola Breakfast Nook
Another notable line extension from a brand that has, until now, kept close to its core product. Baltimore-based Michele’s Granola introduced its new Breakfast Nook line with four flavors designed to embrace the best of breakfast. Flavors include Banana Bread, Cinnamon Roll, Chocolate Chip Pancake and Almond Croissant.
Things that stand out:
- The Almond Croissant is the standout flavor in the lineup and one of the most snackable with a subtle nutty flavor.
- The lineup is well balanced, offering options for a wide range of consumer preferences.
- The products maintain the brand’s emphasis on simple ingredients and handmade granola quality.
Things to consider:
- Although all of the varieties are delicious, it is difficult to discern what makes this line different from the brand’s existing products as the taste and texture are similar to that of the core lineup.
- We would argue the classic look of Michele’s packaging would be more appropriate for this line to retain that craft positioning.
