MìLà to Introduce Retail-Ready Rice Bowls and Bao Buns at Expo West
NEXTY Award finalists debut alongside Hot Pot soup dumplings, signaling the brand's evolution into new meal formats
SEATTLE, WA – MìLà, the modern Chinese food brand bringing restaurant-level craft to grocery aisles nationwide, will showcase its biggest product expansion yet at Natural Products Expo West 2026, taking place March 3–6 in Anaheim, CA. The brand is introducing two entirely new meal platforms—rice bowls and steamed bao buns—alongside a bold new dumpling flavor.
New products debuting include:
Sweet & Sour Pork Rice Bowl (NEXTY Award finalist, Frozen Prepared Foods): A complete meal inspired by the Shanghainese classic táng cù pái gu. Tender pork is glazed in a scratch-made sauce of sweet brown sugar molasses mixed with tangy vinegars and a blend of aromatics and spices. Served over fluffy rice with crisp-tender broccoli, it tastes like it came out of a wok, not a microwave.
Savory Mushroom Bao Buns (NEXTY Award finalist, Plant Party): Soft, cloud-like dough filled with a hearty medley of shiitake, wood ear, cremini, and oyster mushrooms cooked low and slow with aromatics, soy sauce, and spices to develop natural umami. The plant-forward filling mirrors the depth typically associated with meat, delivering a bao that's indulgent, savory, and fully satisfying.
Spicy Hot Pot Beef Soup Dumplings: The iconic hot pot dining ritual reimagined as a hand-wrapped dumpling. Tender beef meets an umami-packed broth slow-simmered with aromatics, bold Sichuan spices, chili flakes, and peppercorns that deliver the signature málà tingle—warming heat with a subtle numbing spice. The full hot pot experience in one juicy, slurpable bite, ready to steam in minutes.
Ready in minutes but crafted with care, all three products deliver restaurant-quality Chinese flavors from kitchen to table with minimal effort. Additional flavor iterations for both rice bowls and bao buns are planned for later this year.
"This is a milestone moment for us," said MìLà Co-Founder & President Jennifer Liao. "Rice bowls and bao buns mark our expansion beyond dumplings and noodles, and they reflect what we believe restaurant-quality Chinese food can look like in the freezer aisle. These new formats let us bring even more regional Chinese flavors to shoppers in ways that are approachable yet uncompromising—raising the bar for the category while honoring the traditions behind every recipe."
