Fork In The Road Merges With Sister Brand True Story Foods
Fork in the Road, a California-based sustainable meat company, has merged with its sister brand True Story Foods. Fork in the Road products, previously exclusive to Whole Foods Market, will now join True Story’s full range of high-quality deli meats, sausages, hot dogs, and fresh pork, bringing together the best of both brands to offer shoppers more choice and convenience under one trusted name.
“Uniting our two brands under the True Story name is more than a business decision—it’s a commitment to families everywhere,” said Phil Gatto, CEO and co-founder of True Story Foods. “With one clear identity and all our energy behind it, we’re making it simpler for people to find us and enjoy a wider variety of delicious, responsibly made foods they can truly feel good about serving.”
While the packaging will change to reflect the True Story brand, customers can expect the same quality products and recipes with no changes to ingredients and sourcing. The merging of the two brands also expands distribution beyond Fork in the Road’s current footprint, making it available to a broader range of retailers nationwide.

In 2010, Fork in the Road was launched in collaboration with Whole Foods Market to craft high-quality hot dogs using the store’s all-natural, pasture-raised meat. The brand then grew to encompass sausages, deli meats, and more. True Story, produced in the same Northern California facility, using the same sourcing, ingredients, and production practices, launched the year after to be sold in other retailers.
Since it was founded in 2011, True Story’s mission has been to reconnect consumers with real, natural foods.
