Watch: Why Evolved Chocolate Rebranded To Meet More Consumers

Long Island, New York-based keto chocolate maker Evolved Chocolate recently celebrated its 10-plus years in the food business by reinventing itself through new packaging and even some recipe tweaks. When Evolved launched in 2011, it was one of very few keto-friendly chocolate makers on the market. As more competition has come into the category, the company has moved beyond keto-centric products and into health-conscious chocolate eaters who want a sugar-free chocolate indulgence.

Speaking with NOSH at Expo East 2022, Evolved Chocolate co-founder Rick Gusmano explained howt the company is working to create a more “cohesive and consistent brand experience” across its portfolio. Evolved not only changed the look of the labels but switched from flow-wrap plastic packaging to Forest Stewardship Council-certified paperboard for all the brand’s products. Gusmano also spoke about how the brand weathered supply-chain challenges and its intention to move beyond the specialty channel into conventional retailers.
