The holiday season is here and retailers are stocking their shelves with festive flavor offerings from classic pumpkin spice to peppermint to gingerbread. With the proven popularity of seasonal plays, brands are testing new flavors and entering new retailers with limited edition sweets, snacks, stocking stuffers and convenient Thanksgiving feasts on-the-go. Michel Et Augustin
Cookie maker Michel Et Augustin’s new seasonal launch is a holiday gift box containing 20 shortbread cookie squares filled with dark chocolate and sprinkled with sea salt. The gift box is available exclusively at Target for $9.99 -- the brand’s first Target product and first national retailer pickup.
Harvest Snaps
Harvest Snaps released two holiday varieties of its Red Lentil Crisps: Salted Caramel and Cinnamon Brown Sugar. The festive flavors, available in 3 oz. bags, hit shelves this month.
Brightland
Olive oil maker Brightland collaborated with LA-based artist Carly Kuhn, known as The Cartorialist, on the new holiday labels for its 2019 harvest blends. The two varieties -- Awake and Alive -- are available in 12.7 oz. glass bottles which have been UV-coated to protect olive oil from the damaging light.
NadaMoo!
Peppermint Bark is the first holiday release from coconut milk ice cream maker NadaMoo! The new variety will be sold online as well as in Whole Foods stores nationwide, select Indiana Fresh Thyme locations, select Fresh Market and Hy-Vee stores, and Walmart stores in Austin and Houston Texas, Colorado and Wyoming.
Tucson Tamale
Tucson Tamales has put a twist on traditional holiday tamales with the release of Turkey & Cranberry Tamales. The frozen tamales are available in two-packs online and at Tucson Tamale locations.
Enlightened
Better-for-you ice cream brand Enlightened is bringing back its coffee shop-inspired Barista Collection with the launch of Pumpkin Spice Latte and White Chocolate Peppermint Mocha. The collection is available at Fairway, HEB, Market Basket, ShopRite, Sprouts and other national retailers through the end of the year.
Purple Carrot
Plant-based meal delivery service Purple Carrot has launched a vegan Thanksgiving box which includes Hasselback Butternut Squash, Rustic Ciabatta Stuffing, Roasted Brussel Sprouts, Classic Gravy and Cranberry Citrus Cake. The new box, which serves four, can be purchased without a subscription to the service for $65.
ONE Bar
Protein bar brand ONE Bar’s newest seasonal flavor is Iced Gingerbread, containing 20 g of protein and 1 g of sugar. The bar is sold for a suggested retail price of $2.49-2.79 on ONE’s website and on Amazon, and has hit shelves at Trader Joe’s, GNC and Vitamin Shoppe.
Yasso
Yasso has relaunched three new holiday flavors of its Frozen Greek Yogurt Bars-- Gingerbread, Peppermint Crunch and Sugar Cookie. The bars are available through December at select retailers for a suggested retail price of $4.99.
Smashmallow
Two holiday varieties from snackable marshmallow brand Smashmallow, Hot Cocoa and Candy Cane, have hit shelves at Target and are also available on Amazon and the brand’s website.
My/Mo Mochi
The frozen novelty brand’s new limited edition flavor is Cool Peppermint, featuring peppermint flavored ice cream wrapped in mochi dough. The new flavor is available in 6-packs at retailers nationwide.
KRAVE
Dried beef brand KRAVE’s new holiday launches at Target include stocking stuffer 1 oz. pouches of Sea Salt Original and Garlic Chili Pepper varieties of its Gourmet Beef Cuts as well as a 5-pack gift box containing a variety of Gourmet Beef Cut flavors.
Chosen Foods
Chosen Foods’ new Warm Gingerbread Avocado Oil Spray adds winter spices to holiday cooking and baking, containing ginger, cinnamon and clove and non-GMO avocado oil.
Bubbies
Bubbies’ seasonal ice cream flavors -- Chocolate Egg Nog, Gingerbread, and Peppermint Candy -- have returned this year for a limited time. The holiday-flavored varieties, which are each under 100 calories per serving, are now available in select retailers nationwide.
Peet's
Peet’s has released its annual Holiday Blend. The 2019 roast features beans from Kenya, Sumatra, and Panama. The brand will donate $2 to No Kid Hungry for every pound sold from December 1 through December 7, up to $30,000.
Rubicon Bakers
Rubicon Bakers’ new seasonal releases include Gingerbread Layer Cake, Pumpkin Salted Caramel Cupcake, Peppermint fudge Cupcakes and Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffins, now on shelves at Whole Foods Market locations, Northern California Target stores, Sprouts Farmers Market, Ralphs and Safeway.
Maxine's Heavenly
Maxine’s Heavenly launched a Pumpkin Pecan Spice variety of its low sugar cookies, which have already hit shelves at Southern California Whole Foods, Gelson’s, Erewhon, Lassens, Down to Earth and Market of Choice and are also available for purchase online.
Copper Cow Coffee
The latest fall flavor from Copper Cow Coffee is Cardamom. The new lattes come in boxes containing five single-serve pour over coffee filters and five single-serve creamers, available on the brand’s website for $17.
Boursin
Cheese maker Boursin’s is offering a new limited edition Apple Cinnamon variety of its Gournay cheese is Apple Cinnamon. The new release is available through the holidays in the deli section of retailers such as Kroger and Albertsons for a suggested retail price of $5.99.
RX Bar
RX Bar’s Gingerbread flavor, combines allspice, ginger and sea salt for a winter take on the protein bar. The limited edition flavor is now on Amazon and select retailers.
Stash Tea
Stash Tea has brought back its White Christmas tea for this year’s holiday season after discontinuing the flavor in 2016. White Christmas tea combines white tea, peppermint and ginger and is now available online for $3.95 for an 18-pack of tea bags.
CompletEats
CompletEats will be donating 5% of the proceeds for its new Peppermint Cacao Chip cookie -- made with organic peppermint oil, cacao powder and allergen-friendly chips -- to San Francisco-based nonprofit Oasis for Girls.
