ATLANTA — With summer in full swing, Revolution Gelato is shipping its award-winning line of organic dairy-free gelato into a rapidly growing number of retail outlets with a fresh new look. Crafted by Michael Kravit, award-winning packaging designer and former creative director for Honest Tea and Honest Kids, Revolution Gelato’s bold new packaging has already begun hitting store shelves.
The new branding brings a broad spectrum of bold color to the ice cream freezer set, while more clearly communicating the key attributes of the product.
“Certainly, it was important for us to hammer home the dairy-free and organic features of the product,” said Kravit, “But it was equally essential that we deliver an approachable yet disruptive look-and-feel to underscore the company’s commitment to leading the plant-based revolution in the frozen category. Revolution Gelato defied conventional dairy-free products by producing a totally creamy, completely indulgent experience. We wanted the design to reflect that rule-breaking ethos.”
Supporting the initiative is a redesigned website to enhance the brand’s online presence as it prepares to roll out nationwide 2-day shipping and more competitive e-commerce pricing. In addition to selling directly on its own platform, Revolution Gelato will be launching on Amazon later this summer.
Next up is a full slate of product development, including new flavors and new foodservice formats to be introduced.
“As a small brand born from an obsession with quality, we view our role is to continually push the boundaries of what dairy-free dessert can be,” said founder Jared Olkin.
While no details on the new flavors have been announced yet, the company affirmed that it will include a blend of classic and on-trend flavor profiles in the months to come. The new flavors will join a line of six other premium dairy-free gelato flavors: Full Throttle Vanilla, Darkest Chocolate, Cardamom Spice, Majestic Mango, French Press Coffee, and Orange Cream.
The company expects to showcase many of its new developments in Baltimore at the Natural Products Expo East in September, where the team will seek to expand availability of its brand. Revolution Gelato is currently available throughout the southeast at natural/specialty retailers in pints and single serve cups, and in bulk at foodservice establishments.
