Lake Champlain Chocolates Achieves B Corp Certification
BURLINGTON, Vt. — Family-owned Vermont chocolate company, Lake Champlain Chocolates (LCC), is proud to announce it is a Certified B Corporation. B Corp Certification validates LCC’s commitment to progressive social and environmental business practices, accountability, and transparency. There are more than 2,200 Certified B Corporations world-wide, 33 of which are in Vermont, with one unifying goal— to redefine success in business. The performance standards B Corps meet are comprehensive, transparent and verified. They measure a company’s impact on all its stakeholders, including workers, suppliers, community, customers, and the environment.
“Achieving B Corps Certification is the next step towards fulfilling our company’s vision to become the gold standard of chocolate companies in the United States, a respected leader other companies aspire to be,” said Eric Lampman, LCC President. “For more than 35 years, our practices have been guided by one core value – ‘everything must measure up to the chocolate.’ And this includes making a positive impact on our local and global communities by respecting our employees, fostering long-term partnerships with our suppliers, and practicing environmental responsibility.”
B Corps Certification is a holistic certification that evaluates the entire business. The performance standards provide a valuable third-party measurement tool, ensuring our customers and suppliers that LCC’s business practices meet the highest of standards.
“It’s exciting to join a global movement of companies who are committed to using business as a force for good,” said Lampman. “We’re looking forward to learning from and collaborating with the B Corps community to inspire other businesses to compete not only to be the best in the world, but to be the best for the world.”
