Annie’s Organic Bunny Grahams To Be Available in K-12 Schools Nationwide

BERKELEY, Calif., Sept. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Today, Annie’s, Inc. announced two varieties of Organic Bunny Grahams, including Honey Bunny Grahams and Friends Bunny Grahams, will be available in K-12 schools nationwide beginning January 2016. Annie’s is one of the first leading natural and organic brands to make its way into cafeterias under the USDA’s new standards to improve the quality of school nutrition.

“The shifting food landscape is happening beyond the grocery stores and home,” said John Foraker, President of Annie’s. “Annie’s is just as passionate as parents and education workers are about having clean food options at school. The opportunity to offer our great tasting, organic, kid and parent approved snacks in the cafeteria is just one way we are trying to reinforce our mission to spread goodness.”

Schools are a new distribution focus for Annie’s. By leveraging capabilities of General Mills, which acquired the company last year and has a longstanding food-service division, Annie’s is able to reach more people in more places. Bunny Grahams are going to be sold into K-12 schools nationwide and will start appearing in January 2016.

With both certified organic varieties made without artificial flavors, synthetic colors and preservatives, and 16 grams of whole grains per serving, Annie’s Organic Bunny Grahams meet the nutritional requirements set by Michelle Obama’s Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act that was implemented in 2011. As a nutritious grain snack, Annie’s Bunny Grahams can now be part of every student’s snacking hour and meal time in schools. Annie’s Bunny Grahams also exceed new USDA Smart Snack regulations, which call for less fat and sugar and more whole grains, fruits, vegetables and protein. Both varieties will be available in single serve 1.25oz snack pouches.
