Expo West Gallery: New Products From Icelandic Provisions, Chocxo, Lesser Evil & More
Continuing with our Expo West 2024 coverage, here’s a look at some of the hottest new products and trends that we spotted on the show floor last week, including Lesser Evil’s better-for-you take on Funyuns, Icelandic Provisions’ line of alt-dairy skyr, and much more.

Bachan’s
Seeking to hit the sweet spot in the condiment category, Bachan’s has expanded its line of Japanese barbecue sauces to include a Sweet Honey variety. The new flavor joins the brand’s existing lineup, which includes Original, Hot & Spicy, Yuzu, Miso, and Gluten-Free varieties. Bachan’s Sweet Honey is currently available at retailers such as Safeway and Walmart in a 17 oz. squeeze bottle.

SimplyProtein
Having established itself as a leader in plant-based protein bars, bites and shakes, SimplyProtein is expanding its platform to include salty snacks with Hint of Habanero Restaurant-style Tortilla Chips. Each serving features 7 grams of protein.

Icelandic Provisions
Dipping its toes into the alt-dairy category, Icelandic Provisions showcased its new Oatmilk Skyr line, available in 5 oz. single-serve cups and 16 oz. tubs. The cups come in Vanilla Bean, Mango & Passion Fruit, Peach, Strawberry and Blueberry varieties while the tubs are offered in Plain and Vanilla Bean flavors. The products are now rolling out to Whole Foods Market stores nationwide.

Chocxo
Just in time for sunny weather, Chocxo unveiled its citrus-inspired LTO: Dark Chocolate Lemon Crème Cups. The new offering is made with organic 72% cacao and is available on the brand’s website for $25.99 per 4-pack of 11.85 oz. bags.

Lotus Foods
Lotus Foods, a California-based company focused on importing handcrafted rice from small family farms to the U.S., debuted its “New & Improved” Brown Pad Thai Rice Noodles and Traditional Pad Thai Rice Noodles. The reformulated products feature a quicker cooking time (seven minutes) as well as an improved texture.

Better Sour
After bringing its globally-inspired sour gummies to market last year, Better Sour has announced the launch of its first single-flavor offering: Passionfruit. Slated to launch this summer, each 1.8 oz. bag of the vegan candy will contain just 3 grams of sugar and 60 calories.

Mavericks
Kids snacks producer Mavericks has made its first foray outside of the cookie category with the release of its new Sandwich Crackers in Peanut Butter and Cheddar varieties. The former is offered in a multi-serve 7.05 oz. box while the latter comes in a box of 6, 1.27 oz. single-serve packs.

Love + Chew
Capitalizing on the increasing consumer demand for protein, superfood cookie maker Love + Chew has created a Peanut Butter Chip Protein Cookie. Each cookie, which is made with upcycled oats, boasts 10 grams of protein. Love + Chew’s Peanut Butter Chip Protein Cookie is available for purchase via the brand’s website for $39.99 per 12-pack.

Dave’s Killer Bread
Stepping further into the snacking category, Dave’s Killer Bread unveiled its new collection of Snack Bites which includes two different lines: Crunchy and Baked. The former is available in both sweet and savory varieties including Super Cinna Roll, Peanut Butter Choco Bliss, Heavenly Honey Nut, Epic Everything, Toasted Garlic and Bold Buffalo. The latter is available in Epic Everything, Toasted Garlic and Bold Buffalo flavors. Both lines contain 10 to 11 grams of protein per serving depending on the variety.

Primal Kitchen
Oxnard, California-based Primal Kitchen grew its lineup of dip offerings with three new dipping sauces: YumYum Sauce, Special Sauce and Avocado Lime. Like the rest of the brand’s products, the new sauces feature avocado oil as their hero ingredient.

Brami
Lupini-based pasta maker Brami has ventured beyond the legume with its new line of Durum Wheat Pasta. Available in Curly Macaroni, Fusilli, Radiatori, and Spaghetti, the new line provides consumers with 21 grams of protein and 9 grams of fiber per serving.

Lesser Evil
Lesser Evil is shooting for the moon with its newest snack product, Moonions. The better-for-you iteration of classic Funions is crafted using organic olive oil and joins the brand’s other space-themed product line, Space Balls.
