Notable New Products: Spicy Syrup & Edible Perfume
This week’s roundup of new products saw a variety of innovative products from several CPG brands, including edible culinary perfume and salad mixes packed in plant-based, fully compostable packaging. Additionally, RIND Snacks and Kiva Confections rolled out limited-time seasonal offerings.

Fly By Jing x Ghetto Gastro
Fly By Jing teamed up with culinary collective Ghetto Gastro to launch its newest offering: Spicy Sovereign Syrup. The mashup combines Ghetto Gastro’s Sovereign Syrup – a blend of New York maple syrup, apple cider syrup and sorghum syrup – with Fly By Jing’s Sichuan Chili Crisp for a flavor profile that is both sweet and spicy. The limited-edition offering is available exclusively online for $25 per 12.7 oz. bottle.

Sweet Loren’s
Better-for-you baked goods company Sweet Loren’s has launched a line of Less Sugar Cookie Dough. Founder and CEO Loren Castle first broke the news of the low-sugar line at NOSH Live back in June. Available in two varieties – Chocolate Chunk and Sugar – the brand says each serving contains 6 grams of sugar, 40% less sugar than other leading national brands.

Partners Coffee
Brooklyn-based small-batch coffee roaster Partners Coffee has officially tapped into the instant coffee space. The new on-the-go product is available in the roaster’s three classic specialty blends: Brooklyn, Jumpstart and El Ramo. The sachets are designed to be combined with 8 oz. of hot or cold water or milk. Partners Coffee instant coffee is available online for $16 per box of five sachets.

Maya Kaimal
Maya Kaimal Foods expanded its portfolio of sauces, dals, rice and condiments with a new line of Inspired Soups. The shelf-stable soups come in four flavors: Spiced Lentil, Creamy Spiced Butternut, Creamy Chickpea & Kale and Tomato & Warm Spices. All of the soups, with the exception of the Tomato & Warm Spices variety, are now available at Whole Foods Market. All four flavors will soon be rolling out to additional retailers including Sprouts, The Fresh Market and Hannaford.

Simple Mills
Simple Mills grew its presence in the cookie aisle with the debut of Nut Butter Stuffed Sandwich Cookies. The cookies come in Creamy Peanut Butter and Cocoa Cashew Crème varieties. The former features cookies made with cashew and peanut flour stuffed with peanut butter while the latter is the brand’s updated take on a chocolate and vanilla sandwich cookie with cashew butter. The cookies will soon be available in a 6.7 oz. box.

Salt & Straw
Portland-based ice cream company Salt & Straw announced the launch of its newest innovation, an ice cream topping dubbed Culinary Perfume. Available in three scents – A Cloud of Cocoa, A Plume of Blooms (Honeysuckle & Jasmine) and A Swoon of Citrus – the new product is an edible fragrance designed to be spritzed onto ice cream “adding the crucial sensory element of smell.” Salt & Straw’s Culinary Perfume will be available this month as a topping at its 27 scoop shops for $0.50. The perfume will also be available online in a 65 ml bottle for $65 or a 3-pack of 10 ml bottles for $48.

Fair Earth Farms
Fair Earth Farms hit the CPG market with six SKUs, including salad kits and salad blends. The kits are available in Superfood Crunch and Honey Coconut Cashew varieties while the blends come in Baby Spinach, Baby Arugula, Spring Mix and Power Greens. Superfood Crunch features a mix of baby kale, baby spinach, baby chard tossed with cauliflower rice, quinoa and cranberries. All six SKUs are packaged in fully compostable plant-based bags with labels printed using water-based ink. The salad kits and blends will soon be available at retailers nationwide.

RIND
RIND Snacks launched its first exclusive offering, Peach Chips, with Thrive Market. Each 3 oz. bag contains 9 grams of fiber and 100 calories per serving. The limited-edition item will be available in individual bags online for $19.99 per 3-pack.

Lost Farm x Jetty Extracts
Cannabis brands Kiva Confections and Jetty Extracts have teamed up for a limited release of Lost Farm Gummies and Chews. The collaboration will feature 100% live resin-infused edibles that feature two of Jetty Extracts’ most popular strains. The Honey Apple x Sunshine OG Gummies feature Jerry Extracts’ Live Resin Sunshine with fruity-forward flavor notes. The Sour Berry x Legend OG Chews features berry flavors against a background of citrus. The chews and gummies both contain 10 mg THC per serving. The new offerings are available online for $19.99 per 10-count container.

Wenzel’s Farm
Wenzel’s Farm expanded its line of small batch meat snacks with the addition of a Dill Pickle flavor. The new product combines authentic dill pickle flavors with Wenze’s naturally smoked meat. The sticks are currently available in 8 oz. packages, with a 2 oz. format rolling out later this year.
