Djenaba Johnson-Jones: Building Founders, Not Just Food
Not everyone changes the food industry by launching the next breakout brand: Djenaba Johnson-Jones is helping hundreds of founders launch their own. Through Hudson Kitchen, she’s built one of the Northeast’s most important incubators for emerging food entrepreneurs, turning what could have been just another shared commercial kitchen into an ecosystem for growth. More than 60 businesses now call Hudson Kitchen home, collectively generating millions of dollars in revenue and creating well over 100 jobs last year alone. Through the Food Business Bootcamp startup accelerator, Johnson-Jones has helped more than 340 founders navigate everything from product development to operations, with a particular focus on opening doors for women, immigrants and other entrepreneurs who have historically found them closed. Add in her “Food Means Business” podcast, where she gives emerging founders a platform to tell their stories, and it’s clear her influence stretches far beyond the walls of her facility.
