Meat Producers True Story, Fork in the Road Merge to Create Unified Brand Identity

Sustainable meat brand Fork in the Road has merged with “sister company” True Story Foods, creating a unified business under the True Story name, with Fork in the Road products to be integrated into the existing True Story line of meats.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Since their respective foundings in 2010 and 2011, both Fork in the Road and True Story have produced their products out of the same Northern California facility, utilizing the “same sourcing, ingredients, and production practices,” the company said in a press release.
“Uniting our two brands under the True Story name is more than a business decision—it’s a commitment to families everywhere,” said Phil Gatto, CEO and co-founder of True Story Foods, in a statement. “With one clear identity and all our energy behind it, we’re making it simpler for people to find us and enjoy a wider variety of delicious, responsibly made foods they can truly feel good about serving.”
Prior to the merger, Fork in the Road’s deli meats, sausages, hot dogs and pork products were sold exclusively at Whole Foods stores. Now, the brand will be integrated into the True Story line and packaging will be updated to note the official connection with True Story.
Fork in the Road’s footprint will also be extended to a “broader range of retailers nationwide,” the company added.
“As we continue to invest in building the True Story brand, this transition opens new and exciting market opportunities,” said Gatto. “We truly believe in True Story’s potential to become a market leader in organic and natural meats raised with respect.”
