Incredifulls (f.k.a. The Pizza Cupcake) has landed its first breakfast item, Egg & Cheese Breakfast Cups, in Target stores nationwide. The launch marks the official rollout of the brand’s broader-reaching new moniker, previewed at Expo West.
Egg & Cheese Breakfast Cups are crafted with a brioche crust, cage-free eggs, rBST-free cheese and a sprinkle of everything seasoning and contain 150 calories per serving. The new offering has a SRP of $8.99 per 4-count box.
As co-founder and CEO Michelle Jimenez told Nosh in March, the rebrand to Incredifulls enables the company to bring its flagship brioche dough to new products designed for a variety of eating occasions throughout the day. The rebrand was, in part, spurred by consumer requests for products beyond its cupcake-shaped pizza.
“As we started speaking to more customers, they were asking, ‘Can you do more with the dough?’ We see snacking growing as a category in general and, as a handheld, there are different opportunities for Incredifulls to play as a snack or a meal,” said Jimenez.
Blackbird Enters Hy-Vee
Chef-crafted, plant-based frozen food producer Blackbird Foods is introducing its Margherita, Supreme and Pepperoni Pizzas to Hy-Vee shoppers across the Midwest.
“We’re excited to bring our New York-style pizzas to Hy-Vee shoppers. Our mission has always been to make restaurant-quality plant-based food more accessible, and this launch is a big step in that direction,” said Emanuel Storch, co-Founder of Blackbird Foods, in a statement.
Blackbird Foods was founded in 2020 as a collaboration between co-founder Mike Pease’s partners at Terri restaurants and the team behind Blackbird Pizza in Philadelphia. The New York-based brand produces a range of frozen pizzas, seitan-based “wings” and seitan available at more than 3,000 retailers nationwide as of 2023, including Target, Whole Foods and Sprouts.
The distribution partnership with Hy-Vee comes on the heels of Blackbird Foods’ acquisition by Ahimsa Companies earlier this year. In a statement, Pease said Blackbird planned to leverage Ahimsa’s expertise to enhance its distribution and manufacturing capabilities.
