About Sasha’s Roots
Sasha’s Roots is an emerging better-for-you snack brand creating vegetable chips made from real vegetables, with no added oil. We’re preparing to launch across DTC, Amazon, and retail channels, with ambitious plans to grow nationwide.
We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on Operations Manager to help oversee our day-to-day operations and build the systems needed to scale.
This is an opportunity to join a brand at an early stage, work directly with the founder, and play an important role in shaping how the business grows.
About the Role
You’ll be responsible for managing and coordinating key aspects of the business, from manufacturing and supply chain to inventory, logistics, and financial planning.
We’re looking for someone who is proactive, highly organized, financially minded, and comfortable working independently. You should be someone who takes ownership, follows through on tasks, and enjoys solving problems rather than simply providing advice.
You’ll work closely with our founder, co-manufacturer, fulfillment partners, sales agencies, and accounting team to keep operations running smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing & Supply Chain
- Manage relationships and ongoing communication with our co-manufacturer in Mexico.
- Coordinate production schedules, purchase orders, and manufacturing timelines.
- Oversee packaging suppliers, production planning, and quality control coordination.
- Monitor production costs, lead times, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure manufacturing deadlines are met and proactively address any issues.
Logistics & Fulfillment
- Coordinate the movement of finished goods from Mexico into the US.
- Manage relationships with freight providers, warehouses, and third-party logistics partners.
- Oversee Amazon FBA/MCF and Shopify fulfillment operations.
- Evaluate fulfillment options and identify opportunities to reduce shipping and storage costs.
- Ensure orders are processed accurately and delivered on time.
Inventory & Financial Planning
- Manage inventory forecasting, stock levels, and replenishment planning.
- Maintain and regularly update the company’s financial model, including sales forecasts, expenses, and cash flow projections.
- Track COGS, landed costs, manufacturing expenses, and fulfillment costs.
- Prepare and monitor operational budgets to ensure spending stays aligned with business goals.
- Analyze profitability across DTC, Amazon, and retail channels.
- Evaluate the financial impact of different production, logistics, and distribution options.
- Work closely with the founder and accounting team on budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization.
- Provide regular financial and operational updates to support business decisions.
Retail & Distribution
- Support the operational side of retail expansion and distributor onboarding.
- Coordinate wholesale purchase orders, inventory allocation, and deliveries.
- Work with retail sales partners to ensure products are available and ready for distribution.
- Manage retailer and distributor operational requirements, including documentation and logistics.
- Help establish efficient processes as the brand expands into new retail accounts.
General Operations & Project Management
- Build and improve internal processes, workflows, and operational systems.
- Coordinate with external partners and ensure projects stay on schedule.
- Track deadlines, follow up on outstanding tasks, and keep the founder updated.
- Identify operational challenges early and take initiative to resolve them.
- Help develop scalable systems that support the company’s long-term growth.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in operations, supply chain, or business management, preferably within food and beverage CPG.
- Experience working with co-manufacturers, 3PLs, and logistics providers.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, demand planning, COGS, and unit economics.
- Experience with budgeting, financial forecasting, and maintaining financial models.
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills, including financial and operational reporting.
- Familiarity with Amazon fulfillment, Shopify, and wholesale distribution.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects independently in a startup environment.
- Experience with international manufacturing and cross-border logistics is a plus.
- Previous experience at an emerging or high-growth CPG brand is strongly preferred.
What We’re Looking For
Beyond experience, we’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys building businesses.
Someone who is resourceful, detail-oriented, and takes initiative without needing constant direction.
You should be comfortable switching between strategic planning and hands-on execution, whether that’s reviewing production costs, following up with a manufacturer, updating financial projections, or coordinating a shipment.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who can take ownership of operations and become a reliable, long-term part of our growing team.
