13 Notable New Products From Winter Fancy Food Show 2023

From plant-based sushi to salsa starter pouches to fish jerky crunch snacks, there was something for every consumer type at this week’s Winter Fancy Food Show in Las Vegas. The show also saw Bobo’s making its first foray into the protein bar set, Savannah Bee Company and Runamok jumping on the hot honey trend and Wonder Monday launching a single-serve, better-for-you iteration of a classic dessert.

Watcharee

Ready-to-eat Thai sauce brand Watcharee launched a new line of Thai-inspired dipping and stir fry sauces. Created by Thai culinary artist Watcheree Limanon, the new line includes Thai Sweet Chili with Ginger, Thai Spicy Chili, Thai Lemongrass and Chili, Thai Sweet and Sour with Pineapple, Thai Garlic and Basil and Pad Thai. The new sauces will soon be available at select retailers such as Whole Foods, Meijer and Wegmans.

Naera

Naera snacks debuted its new Fish Jerky Crunch and Ready to Eat Dried Capelin snacks on the show floor. Available in two flavors at launch– Cheesy Chili and Buttery Herb – the Fish Jerky Crunch snacks are made in Iceland with wild caught, sustainably harvested fish.

PS Seasoning

Wisconsin-based seasoning and sauce maker PS Seasoning announced its new line of dry rubs formulated for chicken wings. The four-SKU line includes Caesar Style, Chicken & Waffles, Spicy Dill Pickle and Buffalo Cajun varieties. The wing seasonings are slated to officially launch to consumers in April.

Africa Bronze Honey Company

Africa Bronze Honey Company expanded its lineup of honeys with its newest variety, Miombo Blossom. Harvested from the Miombo forests of Southern Africa, the new offering is available online for $15.50 per 12.35 oz. jar.

Venus Wafers

Venus Wafers unveiled its newest brand, South Shores Puffs Snacks, in an effort to grow full-scale in the snacking category. Named after Venus Wafers’ Massachusetts headquarters location, South Shores Puffs are available in Vegan Cheddar, Barbecue and Chili Lime Flavors. The new offerings will be available in 4 oz. and 1.5 oz. bags.

Veetee Foods

Veetee Foods announced a multi-million dollar expansion of its portfolio of products, which will add a lineup of pasta, noodles and mac & cheese. According to the brand, this expansion will increase its visibility as a full service meal provider and producer of easy meal solutions. Veetee Foods hopes to have the new products – NoodleHead Noodles, PastaHead pasta and StrongRon’s mac and cheese – on store shelves by this summer.

Kopper’s Chocolate

Kopper’s has expanded its product portfolio with the addition of two new SKUs, Chocolate Sea Salt Chia Almonds and Mexican Hot Cocoa Bites. The former features roasted almonds covered in dark chocolate and sprinkled with Himalayan pink salt and chia seeds. The latter is a spiced marshmallow dough bite coated in dark chocolate and dusted with cinnamon and sugar. Both products will be available in resealable 4 oz. pouches.

Cibo Vita

Cibo Vita, the makers of Nature’s Garden Powered by Plants, launched its new artisanal roasted nuts line. Available in four flavors at launch – Nashville-Hot BBQ Almonds, Baja Taco Cashews, Ghost Pepper Ranch Almonds and Spicy Dill Cashews – the nuts will be available at Hudson News for $6.99 per 4 oz. pouch.

Bobo’s

Bobo’s made its first foray into the protein bar set with two new SKUs, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Protein Bar and Double Chocolate Almond Butter Protein Bar. Both varieties pack 15g of plant-based protein and are available online for $29.88 per 12-pack.

Runamok

Vermont-based maple syrup and honey maker Runamok jumped on the hot honey craze with the launch of its Maple Honey Szechuan Peppercorn Infused Hot Honey. The new offering joins the brand’s two other hot honey varieties, Chile De Arbol Infused and Chipotle Morita Infused. Runamok Maple Honey Szechuan Peppercorn Hot Honey is available online for $12.95 per 9 oz. jar.

Savannah Bee Company

Savannah Bee Company also debuted a new hot honey product, which features a blend of wildflower honey, habanero pepper and scotch bonnet pepper. Savannah Bee Company Hot Honey is available online for $18 per 12 oz. bottle.

Wonder Monday

Better-for-you cheesecake maker Wonder Monday unveiled a new product format, single-serve cheesecakes, designed specifically for retail. Available in two of the brand’s flagship flavors – Strawberry Bliss and Key Lime – each cheesecake has just two grams of sugar.

Konscious

Yven Potvin, founder of plant-based brands Gardein and Yves Veggie Gourmet, unveiled his newest brand, Konscious. The new brand partnered with Protein Industries Canada, Merit Foods and Canadian Pacifico Seaweeds to launch a line of plant-based sushi and onigiri. Konscious’ four onigiri varieties and four sushi varieties are currently available in the freezer aisle of Whole Foods across Canada.
