In April, brands rolled out plenty of sweet and indulgent innovations, from oat milk-based treats from Chloe’s and My/Mochi to low-sugar snacks from DouxMatok and The Cookie Department. Frozen treat maker Chloe’s added three new flavors to its Oatmilk Pop line: Brownie Batter, Chocolate Peanut Butter and Cookies & Cream. The new varieties are sold at retailers including Big Y, Fresh Direct, Jewel Osco, King Kullen, Lucky’s and Save Mart with a suggested retail price of $4.99 to $5.99 per pack.

After launching exclusively with Imperfect Foods, Fancypants Baking Co. launched its line of cookies made with upcycled ingredients on Amazon with new packaging. The cookies are now available in 6 oz. bags, featuring two new characters created by Boston-based firm Jackrabbit Design, and are sold in a three-count variety pack for $17.99.

New York City’s OddFellows Ice Cream Co. celebrated the opening of its sixth ice cream shop in Williamsburg’s Domino Park with the launch of The Boozy Capsule, a line of six liquor-infused cocktail-inspired ice cream flavors. The line will be sold at its New York and Boston stores for $13.50 per tub, and is also available online nationwide for $89.99 for the full collection.

The latest flavor launch from Chicago-based Gelato maker Sacred Serve is Tigernut Cookies N Cream, made with actuated charcoal, tigernut flour and adaptogenic mucuna. The vegan and allergy-friendly flavor is sold on the brand’s website, and is also available through DoorDash, GrubHub and UberEats in Chicago, hitting select retailers this summer.

Confection and gum maker Perfetti Van Melle introduced Fruit-tella Soft Gummies, a candy made with fruit puree and pectin, rather than gelatin. The gummies have hit shelves at Walmart, Rite Aid, Raley's and Food Lion locations in Mixed Berry (Strawberry & Raspberry) and Peach & Mango flavors available in 3.2 oz. ($1.79) and 5 oz. ($2.49) bags.

See's Candies

See's Candies

See’s Candies partnered with fellow California-based companies Peet’s Coffee and Guittard Chocolate Company to launch Chocolate covered Coffee Beans. Combining Peet’s single origin coffee beans from Brazil and See’s dark chocolate supplied by Guittard, the new candy is sold at See’s Candies shops and online for $5 per 1.8 oz. tin.

After launching almond flour last year, Blue Diamond Growers grew its presence in the baking aisle with Tasty Little Cup, a gluten-free and dairy-free mug cake mix, along with a line of almond flour-based baking mixes. Available at retailers nationwide, Tasty Little Cup is sold in Molten Chocolate Cake, Brownie with Diced Almonds, Chocolate Cake and Confetti Cake flavors, while the baking mixes are offered in Brownie, Chocolate Cake, Chocolate Chip Cookie and Yellow Cake varieties.

DouxMatok

Israeli food tech company DouxMatok rolled out limited edition Incredo Spreads in the U.S. Made with sunflower oil and sweetened with cane sugar, the spreads contain 50% less sugar than other conventional alternatives. The spreads are available in Hazelnut Cocoa and Dark Cocoa Salted Caramel, and are sold in two-jar bundles on the brand’s website for $22.95.

Brooklyn-based sauce brand Bushwick Kitchen rolled out a Pancake and Waffle Mix at Walmart stores nationwide in Original Recipe and Cinnamon Oat varieties. The brand is also donating $10,000 worth of the oat milk-based mix this year to Feed the Children.

Greek yogurt bar maker Clio Snacks launched refrigerated Granola and Yogurt Parfait bars, adding a layer of granola to the brand’s signature bars. Available in two flavors -- Strawberry wrapped in yogurt and Coconut wrapped in chocolate -- the bars are sold at Whole Foods for $2.49, with expansion to additional retailers to follow in June.

My/Mochi

My/Mochi

My/Mochi Ice Cream introduced an allergy-friendly and vegan option to its mochi offerings with its Oat Milk Frozen Dessert. Available in Strawberry, Vanilla, Chocolate, Neapolitan and Salted Caramel flavors, each box contains six 100-calorie mochi ice cream pieces.

The Cookie Department

The Cookie Department added three keto-friendly varieties to its functional cookie offerings: Champion Chip (chocolate chip), Cake Walk (birthday cake) and Mint Condition (double chocolate mint). The new flavors are gluten-free and contain one gram of added sugar, sold on the brand’s website in three-cookie samplers, 8-count packs and two-box and three box bundles.

Gum maker Liquid Core introduced Life’s Gum, designed to support the immune system through its BerryDefense proprietary blend of elderberry, black currant and aronia berry, along with probiotics. The gum is sold on the brand’s website for $5.99 per pack or $69.95 for a 15-pack tray.

Collagen powder brand Obvi expanded into a new category with the launch of Obvi Bars, high-protein collagen meal replacement bars. The bars, which contain 14 grams of protein and four grams of collagen per serving, are offered in Birthday Cupcake, Fruity Cereal and Chocolate Peanut Butter Crunch for $39.99 per 12-count box.

Refrigerated bar maker CORE released CORE Keto Bars formulated with prebiotic fiber, plant-based protein and sweetened with allulose. The gluten-free bars come in Fudgy Double Chocolate Brownie and Chewy Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter flavors, sold for $2.99 at Vons, Pavilions and Safeway as well as on the brand’s website.

Frozen dessert brand Enlightened launched Mango + Boost Fruit Infusion frozen fruit bar, blending fruit with mood-boosting herbs and adaptogens such as lemon balm, sage and green tea extract. The bars are offered in packs of four for $5.99 at Walmart and ShopRite.

Supplement maker Eversea launched Fruit Drops, organic certified Omega-3 DHA chewables for children, made with algae-derived DHA fatty acids and dried organic fruit with no added sugar. Available in an orange vest Zing Fruit flavor, the supplements are sold on the brand’s website for $28.50 for a 90-count bottle.

Rip Van rolled out a Birthday Cake stroopwafel, formulated with three grams of sugar and six grams of fiber per serving. The new flavor is sold exclusively online in 12-packs for $23.99, with two boxes (24 wafels) priced at $35.98 and four boxes (48 wafels) priced at $65.

Oregon-based functional gum company Run Gum launched Run Gum Calm, designed to manage anxiety and stress with ashwagandha, GABA and L-theanine. The gum is available in Lavender and Raspberry Lemon flavors in 30-piece resealable pouches for a suggested retail price of $19.99.
