Chia Smash Secures Distribution at Target
NEW YORK, N.Y.— The fastest-growing new jam brand in the US arrives at over 220 locations of retailer Target in September 2023. Chia Smash, a line of superfood jams made with real, whole ingredients and no added sugar, is increasing its distribution and debuting at Target stores for the first time, specifically in “super” Target locations across 22 states.
Chia Smash uses upcycled fruit, blended with chia seeds, sweetened naturally with dates, to create the classic jam experience, but with 60% less sugar than other jams and jellies, and all the taste and texture.
The brand’s new availability at Target builds on the brand’s momentum the past 24 months. Chia Smash is now sold in nearly 3,000 locations, including natural and conventional grocery chains, and independent and gourmet grocers.
Chia Smash is connecting with shoppers. Brand loyalists repurchase Chia Smash every 11 days, vs. the typical months’ long gap between purchases for many jams and jellies. Chia Smash is also the very first jam brand approved by Whole30, the health and wellness regimen committed to whole ingredient based foods and low sugar intake.
The brand’s “single serve” squeeze packets, which launched at Sprouts Farmers Market three months ago, will also see increased distribution and arrive at Whole Foods Market in November 2023. At Whole Foods, Chia Smash is already one of the top-selling jam brands in the chain.
