Savorly Gratins to Launch in Select Whole Foods Markets
BROOKLYN, N.Y.– Starting this month, Savorly’s bite sized Gratins will be hitting shelves at Whole Foods Market in the Mid-Atlantic region. This is a promising expansion for the brand in its first year. After launching in 2019, Savorly’s line of fresh frozen party bites were first available for holiday in retailers including The Fresh Market, select Whole Foods, and Central Market.
“Especially with entertaining slowed down due to COVID19, we are excited to bring Gratins to market,” said David Gotlib, Savorly co-founder. “We envisioned these as both appetizer or side dish. Even if it’s just your immediate family, we want to be there to make gathering around a meal easier.”
The products going into Whole Foods Market are the Potato Gratins and the Cauliflower and Broccoli Gratins. The Potato Gratin is a comforting classic made bite size, whereas the Cauliflower and Broccoli Gratin is a healthy version of the classic. Both are made with carefully considered, non-GMO ingredients before being frozen for convenience and freshness.
“We are so excited to see how this new delivery of gratin resonates with the consumer.” said Ethan Dabush, Savorly co-founder. “The Potato [Gratin] has four premium cheeses in it – emmental, gran formaggio, gorgonzola, and mozzarella – and when you taste the Cauliflower and Broccoli [Gratin] it’s hard to believe there are veggies in there.”
In addition to being served as a one-bite appetizer, the Savorly team sees potential for their Gratins to be used as a side dish. The technique of gratin originated in French cuisine but au gratin potatoes, and more recently the lower-carb cauliflower version, are a familiar dish in classic American cooking.
“A few of the Gratins would make for a great accompaniment to a weeknight meal. It’s so easy to open the box and bake these while you’re preparing the main dish,” said David Gotlib, Savorly cofounder. “Plus – I know they’re popular with kids. My nephew loves them!”
