Quinn Snacks Launches Two New Pretzel Flavors

All Quinn pretzels use a Kansas-grown sorghum flour. Why sorghum? Not only is sorghum naturally gluten free, it’s also a whole ancient grain. Sorghum originated in Northeastern Africa where the plant developed extensive root structures to access water held deep within the land and survive in times of little rainfall. This characteristic makes sorghum a highly drought-tolerant and water efficient crop and more environmentally sustainable than other sources of grain.
Other Benefits of Sorghum – Sorghum’s chemical structure also, over time, evolved to produce antioxidants like polyphenols to naturally protect against pests and disease. These same polyphenols have been linked to greater cardiovascular health, lowered risk of stroke, diabetes, metabolic syndrome and gastrointestinal cancer. Researchers have discovered that some varieties of sorghum’s bran, the husk that surrounds the sorghum grain, contains higher levels of antioxidants than blueberries and pomegranates!
