North Country Smokehouse Launches New Line of Sugar-Free Bacon

North Country Smokehouse, a family-owned, artisanal smoked meat producer with a strong history of culinary excellence, has expanded their award-winning product line to include two sugar-free, paleo-friendly bacon products.

All of North Country Smokehouse’s products are handmade and slow-smoked in small batches by experts, and never include artificial flavors, fillers or dyes. Their meats are sourced from the Breton family, a 3rd generation family farm business, who leads North America & Canada in the supply of certified humane and organic pork.

Building on the success of their original bacon lines, North Country Smokehouse identified a need in the market for products aimed toward health-conscious consumers. To meet this demand, as well as expand its range of organic and natural products, the company created two new bacon products.

  • Organic Applewood Smoked Sugar-Free Bacon – Available in an 8-ounce package, this USDA Certified Organic, paleo-friendly bacon is smoked low and slow over embers of authentic applewood.  Mildly sweet with a bold flavor, the rich and smoky taste adds a dimension not often found in sugar-free products. MSRP $6.99.
  • All-Natural Sugar-Free Fruitwood Smoked Bacon – Available in a 12-ounce package, this all-natural, paleo-friendly bacon is bathed in a Fruitwood smoke for more than 10 hours. Like the organic applewood product, the rich, smoky flavor enhances the natural flavor of the meat. MSRP $6.99.

Both products are free of nitrates, nitrites and antibiotics. They are also Certified Humane, ensuring strict animal welfare standards. This includes providing livestock with shelter, access to resting areas, room to roam and engage in natural behaviors, and no growth hormones.
