Zia Hatch Chile Company supplies authentic Hatch Chile products in a shelf stable format to retailers and chefs nationwide. Hatch Chile, a crop harvested once per year in the fall, can only be grown in the Hatch Valley of Southern New Mexico due to its high altitude, dry climate and rich soil. Like products of the Champagne region of France, a true Hatch Chile comes from nowhere other than the Hatch Valley of New Mexico. We set out on a mission to bring Hatch Chile, in a shelf stable format, to those those with similar stories who lost a piece of home, those who desire a healthy lifestyle, and those who want to curate meaningful culinary experiences; in turn introducing the incredible, region specific crop to the nation. Our Founder Nate’s story, coming from a family of 17 aunts and uncles in New Mexico and being weaned on Hatch Chile out of the bottle, is the same as so many others around the nation who moved away from home to places where their beloved food doesn’t exist. When that happens, you feel like you’ve lost a piece of home and your soul. Having those traditions uprooted when he moved to New York City was really upsetting, hence, Zia Hatch Chile Company was born.
