How Tia Lupita is Bringing Mexican Flair to the Condiment Aisle
Vilore Foods-owned Tia Lupita is betting big on sauces as the next frontier of Mexican-inspired flavor.
What began as a line of hot sauces has evolved into a platform spanning grain-free tortilla chips made with cactus, Mexican chili crunch and two new product lines debuted at Expo West 2026: Mexican Barbecue Sauces and Creamy Hot Sauces.
At the show earlier this month, Tia Lupita founder and CEO Hector Saldivar framed the launches as part of a broader strategy to keep the brand rooted firmly in the “flavor enhancement” lane as consumers seek better-for-you flavor solutions.
Last year’s acquisition by Texas-based distributor Vilore Foods has given the brand the scale and infrastructure to support that innovation pipeline. With access to established capabilities in sales, logistics, operations, manufacturing and marketing, Tia Lupita is better equipped to drive incremental growth from mainstream consumers. Saldivar will remain at the helm, bringing an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong founder story that offers retailers a culturally authentic brand.
