Cascadia Managing Brands Adds Social Media Creation and Management Service

RAMSEY, N.J.— Cascadia Managing Brands, a leading food and beverage Brand Management and Consultancy firm, is once again adding food items to its repertoire and adding Social Media Creation and Management to its growing menu of services.

Most people know Cascadia Managing Brands for their beverage history.  Cascadia President Robert Sipper was Chief Operating Officer for the New York/New Jersey Distributor of Evian Mineral Water and sold over 1.8 million cases annually. This company also helped launch the success of San Pellegrino, Panna, Poland Spring, Orangina, Welch’s, and many other beverage brands.

Many people know Bill Sipper, Cascadia Managing Brands Managing Partner, because of his experience helping brands like Evian, Clearly Canadian, Nantucket Nectars, Fresh Samantha/Odwalla, and Naked Juice succeed.

Collectively Cascadia is best known for its success in helping launch beverage brands like Hint Water, Zico Coconut Water, Liquid Death, Pathwater, Rain Water, Caliwater, Steaz, GURU and others.

What most people don’t know is that during each of their 30+ years of success in the food and beverage industry, collectively, they were responsible for launching and the success of brands like Dirty Potato Chips, Bonne Maman Preserves, Sorrel Ridge Preserves, Lindt, Droste, Toblerone and Amadei chocolate and Caesar Cardini salad dressing.

“We hadn’t planned on getting back into the food items; it just kind of fell in our lap,” stated Bill Sipper.  While walking through the Fancy Food Show in New York, he heard his name called loudly by someone at a booth. “Billy.”  “I couldn’t imagine who it was. Very few people call me Billy”.  Ron Vogler, Executive Vice President of Too Good Gourmet cookies, was the man calling his name.  They hadn’t worked together or even spoken in 30-plus years.  Ron Vogler was Director of Sales for the Clorox Company Bottled Water Operations when they owned Deer Park Water some 30 years ago.  And the Sipper’s were Deer Park’s exclusive distributor.

“At the time, Deer Park was exclusively a home and office delivery brand, and a bulk water brand at retail with 1- and 2-gallon packages,” stated Vogler. “The Sippers helped us create, launch, and execute the introduction of Deer Park Spring Water “That’s Good Water!” in popular 12.0 oz. multi-packs, 1-liter, and 1.5-liter PET packaging. The Sipper’s insight, strategic expertise, marketplace, and trade knowledge helped our sales & marketing team make informed decisions and minimize risk while growing sales and distribution to well above-plan results. The Sipper team executed very well with not only the large chains but exceedingly well in the up and down-the-street business, building sales from the ground up. So, when I saw them at the Fancy Food Show, I knew I wanted them to head up sales of our cookie line.”

“We were very honest,” stated Bob Sipper, “besides eating cookies, we didn’t know very much about the cookie category.  But Ron wanted us to handle his cookies, and he was willing to teach us the category we have been able to introduce Too Good Gourmet to multiple distributors throughout the country.  Today, Too Good Gourmet is being sold in 87 of the top 100 supermarket chains and is the number one-selling Keto cookie line in the country. We are now working with Too Good Gourmet to create packaging and programs for additional business channels”.

Since the success with Too Good Gourmet, Cascadia Managing Brands is now ready to add a few other gourmet and snack food items to its portfolio of brands. “We are being cautious,” added Bob Sipper, “and we are looking to align with a select number of interesting brands.”

“We are not done with beverages,” stated Bill Sipper. “We know our distributors can sell beverages, cookies, and even salty snacks.  It makes sense for everyone.”

In addition to adding snacks and food items, Cascadia is now offering Social Media services. “I swore if I saw another client post a photo of their product with someone holding it in front of a famous statue or in a famous city, I would jump off the Brooklyn bridge,” stated Bill Sipper. While that might be an exaggeration, those types of social media posts only serve to hurt a brand and throw the brand off the message. “Marketing is an art and a science, not hoping for blind luck. If your marketing feels like you are in a casino, you are doing it wrong,” added Sipper.

Cascadia started its social media department to help clients think through the positioning of their brand and create and post content that is in line and always consistent with their brand positioning and distilled proposition. Adrian Castano Calle, a graphic designer and brand marketer with digital media expertise, is heading up Cascadia’s social media business.  Cascadia currently has three social media clients.
