Two Magpies Bakery Takes Gold at Britain’s Best Loaf Awards
East Anglian bakery and cafe group Two Magpies Bakery fought off a record number of entrants to take gold at Britain’s Best Loaf 2026 with its Gluten Free Artisan Loaf.
Having already been crowned Britain’s Best Cake this month, Two Magpies are truly on a winning streak, taking home a total of five medals at the Britain’s Best Loaf Awards. In addition to a gold medal in the Gluten Free category, Two Magpies also walked away with four other awards in the Flavoured Sourdough, Seeded Sourdough and Innovation categories.
Britain’s Best Loaf is organised by British Baker and returned to the UK Food & Drinks Show for its 13th year on Tuesday 14th April, celebrating excellence, skill and innovation across the UK’s professional bread-making community.
Two Magpies’ Gluten Free Artisan Loaf was judged by an expert panel including Harry Peak, Lead Product Developer at Marks & Spencer, John Lamper, Bakery Specialist – ISB at Tesco, and other high-profile industry experts.
“We are thrilled to have walked away with five medals at these prestigious awards. All our breads are handmade at our central bakery in Suffolk by our committed team of bakers, and they deserve the recognition for all their hard work,” said Steve Magnall, CEO and owner of Two Magpies Bakery Group.
Two Magpies’ other winning loaves include its Baron Bigod Pink Peppercorn Sourdough (Silver medal in Flavoured Sourdough category), Spent Grain & Honey Sourdough (Silver medal in Innovation category), Brown Butter & Cinnamon Focaccia (Bronze medal in Innovation category) and Seeded Sourdough (Bronze medal in Seeded Sourdough category).
Two Magpies Bakery operates 11 sites across Norfolk and Suffolk, in Norwich, Blakeney, Holt, Woodbridge, Wells-next-the-Sea, Beccles, Aldeburgh, Darsham, Framlingham, Marlesford and Southwold.
