Celebrating Nine Years of the Iconic Hop Chowda Hazy IPA With Limited Edition Beers, Food, Music & More
(SCOTTSDALE, AZ) – Goldwater Brewing Co. is proud to announce the return of Hop Chowda Day on Saturday, December 13th, 2025, at its Old Town Scottsdale brewery. Now in its second year, the event marks nine years of Hop Chowda Hazy IPA, the brewery's flagship Hazy IPA and one of the most beloved beers in its lineup. This year's celebration features four limited edition Hop Chowda variants, fresh coastal bites from Chula Seafood, a live DJ set, and exclusive merch.
"Hop Chowda has been one of our flagship beers since 2016, and seeing Hop Chowda Day come to life last year was unreal," said Co-Founder and Creative Director Dillon McClelland. "We couldn't wait to bring it back for a second year. This event is all about celebrating the fans and community who made Hop Chowda what it is, and we're stoked to share new Hop Chowda iterations, good eats, and a fun vibe."
Debuting in December 2016, Hop Chowda quickly became Goldwater's best selling IPA and a fixture in the Arizona craft beer scene. This year's event builds on that history with four brand new variants, a live DJ set from 12-7 PM, and a continued partnership with Chula Seafood, who will be onsite serving lobster rolls, fish & chips, chowder fries, and cups of chowder from 12–7 PM (or until sold out). This year's Hop Chowda limited edition variant lineup hits the taps starting at noon, featuring Mango, Peaches & Cream, Orange Cranberry, and Double Dry Hopped. All of which will only be available on draft. Don't worry, the original Hop Chowda will of course be available as well throughout the day both on draft and in to-go 4-packs.
About Goldwater Brewing Co.
Goldwater Brewing Co. began with a family tradition of brewing, rooted in Chad and Dillon McClelland's childhood experiences with their father, Greg, an avid home brewer since 1986. What started as a hobby in their garage evolved into a shared passion, leading to the establishment of a 10bbl brewery with three locations. The turning point came when Chad, inspired by his travels through craft beer scenes worldwide, decided to turn their family passion into a professional endeavor. With full support from Greg, Dillon, and Jimmy Disken, the family set out to build their dream. After months of planning, experimenting, and overcoming challenges, Goldwater Brewing Co. officially opened its doors on May 1, 2015. Their success stems from the combined strengths of each member: Greg's business acumen, Chad's brewing expertise, Dillon's creative vision, and Jimmy's operational skills. Together, they've built a brand known for quality, innovation, and community. As they continue to grow and introduce new, exciting beers, the family remains committed to their roots and the people who have supported them from the start.
