The former Environmental Protection Agency leader-turned-food industry regulator had a short and interesting stint at one of the country’s most controversial agencies. We’re dubbing Jim Jones one of 2025’s Nosh Notables for the stance he’s taken since leaving the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, including his courage to call out the agency’s critical role in public health and how the Trump Administration is gutting any efforts to make it stronger. Earlier this year, Jones questioned the agency’s “ability to function” without key aspects of its workforce, making him our favorite (and only) whistleblower on this list.
