GoNanas Expands Distribution, Goes National in Whole Foods

Better-for-you banana bread mix company GoNanas is now available nationwide in Whole Foods Market. In total, the brand said, GoNanas has increased its distribution to over 1,000 doors this year, going national with Wegman’s in the Northeast in March.

The launch comes after the brand took part in Mondelēz CoLab accelerator program in March 2022.

The brand makes a variety of baking mixes for different banana-based muffins as well as single-serve pouches for quick, mug cakes. To draw attention to its use of “spotty” bananas, the brand has pursued placement in the produce section of stores — though in Whole Foods, the line is sold in the baking mix set.

Tea Drops Goes Deeper at Target

Tea Drops Goes Deeper at Target

Tea Drops has expanded the distribution of its “instant” Matcha Bubble Tea, Ube Latte and Chai Latte kits to over 1,000 Target locations. The retailer first picked up the kits, which have an MSRP of $8.99 to $13.99, in January with a trial in 140 stores.

“We are excited that our cafe-at-home concepts are taking off,” Tea Drops founder Sashee Chandran said in a statement. “The bubble tea market isn’t known for premium ingredients…quality ingredients and customization aligns with our brand ethos and our kits are designed to exceed the tea experiences available at boba tea cafes.”

American interest in boba tea has expanded in recent years paving the way for a variety of do-it-yourself brands hitting retail shelves.

Founded in 2015 as a bagless, premium tea brand, Tea Drops found particular success with its at home boba line, which launched during the pandemic in 2020 amid a boba “shortage.” The latte kits, which feature Tea Drop’s new branding and come with Copper Cow Condensed Milk Creamers, represent the first time the brand has sold its boba and tea together in one package. 9. In addition to the Target partnership, the brand’s tea is sold at select Whole Foods, Cost Plus World Market, Kroger and Giant locations among others.
