As Winter Approaches, Brands Launch New Coffee And Tea Offerings

Coffee and tea makers are gearing up for the winter season with the launch of new functional products featuring mood-boosting and immune-support benefits, as well as a range of limited edition holiday-themed blends. Check out the gallery for the latest mushroom-powered product launches, company rebrands, limited-edition releases and the debut of a new hemp-infused coffee brand.

Hemisphere Coffee Roasters

Ohio-based Hemisphere Coffee launched a Bourbon Barrel-aged coffee made with Nicaragua green coffee beans aged in White Oak Bourbon Barrels and roasted at a medium level. The alcohol-free coffee beans are available online in a whole bean format in a 10 oz. bags ($20), 5.5 oz. bottles ($16), 11 oz. bottles (which are now sold out) and 22 oz. growlers ($48).

Forage Hyperfoods

Medicinal mushroom product maker Forage Hyperfoods debuted a line of medium-dark roast coffee blended with wild-harvested Chaga mushrooms. Forage’s Out of the Woods Mushroom Coffee Blend offers immune support and its functional mushroom ingredients are intended to diffuse the jitteriness associated with caffeine consumption. The line is available for $19.95 in K-cup compatible pods and Nespresso-compatible pods, as well as a traditional ground 12 oz. bag format.

Wildland Coffee

Marking the first extension to its Coffee in a Tea Bag line, Wildland Coffee introduced a dark roast variety this month. The coffee bags can be prepared by steeping them in hot water for five minutes or for up to 12 hours in cold water. The coffee bags are fully compostable, shelf-stable for up to 12 months and available online in packs of 5 ($8.75), 10 ($17.50), 20 ($33.25), or 40 bags ($63).

RD Coffee

The Ryan Dungey Foundation announced the return of its dual-origin Holiday Blend coffee made with Ethiopian and Sumatran beans and featuring notes of cherry, chocolate and cedar. The limited edition blend comes in a whole bean format and is available in 12 oz. bags for $19.95 with 10% of all proceeds being donated to the foundation benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and All Kids Bike.

NuZee x Stone Brewing

Single serve coffee format co-packer, NuZee has partnered Stone Brewing to release a single origin Mexico dark roast ground coffee blend, Xocoveza Tres Leche. The coffee is produced and manufactured by NuZee and available in 12 oz. bags for $12 at all Stone Brewing Tap Rooms and Bistros nationwide.

Om Mushroom

Functional wellness brand Om Mushroom Superfood expanded its portfolio with the launch of its Morning Energy Blend. The caffeine-free mushroom blend contains Cordyceps, Lion’s Mane, Rhodiola, Turkey Tail, King Trumpet, Reishi and Chaga mushrooms and offers antioxidants and immune support. Each serving contains 30 calories, 1 gram of sugar and can be prepared by mixing with hot or cold water or a milk or milk alternative. Om’s Morning Energy Blend is available online in a 30-serving biodegradable canister ($37.99) and a 10-count box of individual packets ($19.99).

Supreme Origin

Hemp-infused coffee maker Supreme Origin Coffee debuted its portfolio of premium coffees in five varieties: Tolima, Huila (available in regular and decaf), Red Gesha and Yellow Bourbon. Each variety features beans sourced from Colombia and up to 250 mg of Colorado-grown CBD per package. The coffees are available nationwide “in major metropolitan areas where cannabis is legal,” according to a press release.

Progeny

In support of its mission to financially assist Colombian coffee farmers, Progeny Coffee has launched its Farmers Reserve collection with the debut of its first flavor: Piñita. The coffee is made by combining pineapples with coffee cherries in a specialty fermentation process. The coffee was developed alongside Piñita’s farmer Juan Felipe and is available online in 100 gram bags for $30.

Anjali’s Cup

Maker of Ayurveda-inspired, turmeric blends, Anjali’s Cup has introduced Anjali’s Chai Masala with Extra Ginger. The launch is in tandem with a rebrand, which includes packaging updates and new brand name. The company was previously known as Bija Bhar and offered two products: Resilience Turmeric Elixir and Anjali’s Chai Masala with Turmeric and Saffron. Anjali’s Cup products can be made into tea, added to coffee or mixed into baked goods or meals. Anjali’s Chai Masala with Extra Ginger is available online in a 2 oz. tin for $15 and a 6 oz. pouch for $35.

The Republic of Tea x Calm

Premium tea brand The Republic of Tea teamed up with mental wellness platform Calm to introduce three functional tea blends: Focus, Relax and Rest. The teas are made with ingredients including Rooibos, Dandelion, Chamomile and Lion’s Mane and include a free two-week trial to the Calm app with each purchase. Calm Teas are available online and at Sprouts Farmers Market locations nationwide in a 36-count tin for $13.50.

Dunn Brothers

Minnesota-based Dunn Brothers Coffee released its limited-edition, medium-roast 2021 Holiday Blend. The coffee is made with Ethiopian and Papua New Guinea beans and features cocoa and port wine flavors. Dunn Brothers Holiday Blend 2021 Edition is available online and in all Dunn Brothers locations for $20 per 1 lb. bag with a portion of proceeds donated to global humanitarian organization, Alight.

Death Wish Coffee Co

Self-proclaimed “makers of the world’s strongest coffee,” Death Wish Coffee Co. debuted its Gingerdead Holiday Blend featuring brown spices and cinnamon flavors. The seasonal blend is available online and at the brand’s flagship New York store in 12 oz. ground bags and 10-count ‘Death Cups’, compatible with Keurig machines.

Peet’s

Peet’s Coffee introduced a Holiday Blend this season that features notes of Guatemalan chocolate, Kenyan black currant and Ethiopian candied peel with a Sumatra finish. The limited-time blend is also available in a decaf variety, K-cup pod format and 1 lb. bags online and at retailers nationwide for $19.95.

Tea Drops x Hello Kitty

Bagless tea maker Tea Drops partnered with Hello Kitty to introduce a co-branded collection of organic Tea Drops and a DIY Bubble Tea Kit. The Hello Kitty-inspired drops come in Apple Pie A La Mode, English Breakfast and Strawberry Matcha Green Tea flavors with the English Breakfast variety featured in the Bubble Tea Kit along with tapioca pearls and a reusable metal boba tea straw. The drops are packaged in 10-count, single flavors canisters and are available online in a Tea Trio Gift Set for $47 while the Bubble Tea Kit can be purchased for $22.
