Watch: How SnackFutures Will Help Mondelēz Generate $100M

Last year CPG giant Mondelēz tasked its innovation and venture arm SnackFutures with the goal of generating $100 million dollars in growth by 2022. Backed by the company’s expertise in manufacturing, operations and supply chain, but granted the freedom to operate like a startup, SnackFutures has that audacious target in its sights.

The plan was announced last year by CEO Dirk Van de Put as a way to shift the company’s focus from cost cutting measures to more forward-thinking strategies.

At Expo West 2019 NOSH Editor Carol Ortenberg sat down with SnackFutures’ head of innovation, Brigette Wolf, to discuss the group’s mandate and how it hopes to achieve that goal.

Wolf laid out the groups three pillars of focus — invent, reinvent and venture — and discussed how SnackFutures’ customer-first approach is leading Mondelēz to develop more hyper-targeted products. She also spoke about SnackFutures’ investment in prebiotic functional foods startup Uplift Food and how the brand fits into the venture group’s larger growth plans.
