Alaya Tea Launches New Golden Tipped Tea Variety

Indian, women-owned Alaya Tea has launched its newest tea variety, an Assam Golden Tippy Black Tea!

Golden Tippy teas are just that: tea leaves with quite a bit of the tip (or leaf buds). Plucked with care, these wiry leaves, with a golden hue, are some of the most prized harvest, available only in limited quantities each season. The leaves impart a malty, robust flavor with a sweet honey-like finish, ideal for the spring.

Alaya Tea worked with a family-run tea estate who are passionate about the environment in the eastern Indian state of Assam to source this top-shelf organic tea. They produce leaves that are grown in tandem with nature, and hand-harvested to ensure a beautiful, full leaf. The tea is packaged in 100% compostable packaging, including the zipper, adhesive, and special edition golden label.
