Hammond’s Elevates Hot Chocolate with Dunking Spoons

DENVER– Hammond’s Brands, the parent company of Hammond’s Candies, Old Dominion Peanut Company, and McCraw’s Candies, raised the bar for dessert beverages today with the launch of its line of Hot Chocolate Dunking Spoons.

With flavors ranging from the traditional Milk Chocolate, Dark Chocolate and Dark Salted Caramel to seasonal varieties such as Milk Pumpkin Spice and Dark Peppermint, the new 1.5 oz. chocolate spoon transforms into a rich mug of hot chocolate when stirred into a hot 8 oz. glass of milk, offering a more flavorful cup of cocoa than other products on the market.

Hot Chocolate Dunking Spoons are available in both a single pack and a gift pack of two chocolate spoons and four large homemade marshmallows. Singles are packaged 15 units per wholesale case with a suggested retail price of $2.99.

“Our Hot Chocolate Dunking Spoons take one of America’s oldest desserts — even the colonists drank it![1] — and give it a gourmet twist. Using an age-old recipe and the highest quality ingredients ensures that each cup packs a comforting, flavorful punch,” Andrew Schuman, Hammond’s President and CEO said. “With the average American drinking at least 20.4 gallons of milk each year[2], stores can’t go wrong in offering a delicious accompaniment for this go-to beverage.”

About Hammond’s

Hammond’s Candies began delighting candy lovers with artisan candy canes, beautifully spun ribbon candy, and larger-than-life lollipops when it was founded by the Hammond family in 1920, making it Colorado’s favorite handmade confectioner for decades. In 2007, the company became the Hammond’s that it is today through its acquisition by current President and CEO Andrew Schuman, growing from a much-loved, local candy company to a leading gourmet sweet provider with national regard (and has doubled the number of employees). Since then, Hammond’s has gone on to acquire such companies as McCraw’s Candies in 2010 and Old Dominion Peanut Company in 2012 as well as to gain impressive recognitions for their brand packaging and product innovation.
