Crimson Cup and Charqui Jerky Co. Introduce Coffee-Flavored Beef Jerky
COLUMBUS, OHIO– Columbus, Ohio coffee roaster Crimson Cup Coffee & Tea and award-winning local jerky maker Charqui Jerky Co. have paired up to introduce “Morning Buzz,” a coffee-flavored beef jerky. The flavor combines Crimson Cup craft coffee and Charqui’s handcrafted beef jerky, which is made from American-sourced beef and all-natural ingredients. The result is a high protein, low fat, low carb artisanal snack with a flavor kick from coffee, cocoa, cayenne pepper and molasses. The product contains a small amount of caffeine.

Charqui Jerky Owner Matt Salts began developing a new jerky with coffee, cocoa and cayenne pepper flavors last fall. “During tasting events, our customers were blown away by the combination,” he said. “But some people expressed a desire for a stronger coffee flavor.”
From there, he took the products to the coffee experts at the Crimson Cup Innovation Lab. “They were just crazy enough to hear us out and helped us drive the product home,” he said. “When we tried their craft coffee, everything just clicked. From there it made sense to introduce this extraordinary flavor together. I’m extremely excited to bring this unique product to market.”
Morning Buzz jerky is available at Crimson Cup Coffee Houses in Clintonville and Upper Arlington. A one-ounce bag retails for $4.99.
