New Products: Meati’s MushroomRoot Jerky, Kelp Hot Sauce

In this week’s notable new products roundup, Meati enters the snacking space with a new jerky offering, TCHO teams up with Equator Coffees to craft its newest chocolate bar and Barnacle Foods expands its kelp hot sauce line.

Barnacle Foods

Juneau, Alaska-based Barnacle Foods has expanded its lineup of hot sauces with the addition of Habanero Hot Sauce. The new offering features Alaska-grown kelp, mango, fermented sweety drop peppers and fermented habanero peppers. Consumers can order Barnacle Foods’ Habanero Hot Sauce online for $6.95 per 5 oz. bottle.

Arnold

Bread makers Arnold, Brownberry and Oroweat have announced their newest product line, Grains Almighty available in Gut Balance and Plant Protein. The former features flax, honey, barley, sunflower seeds and sprouted grains and packs 7 grams of fiber per two-slice serving. The latter is baked with sprouted whole grains, chickpea flour and pea protein and provides 9 grams of protein per serving. Both varieties are sold in 20 oz. loaves at grocery stores and major retailers nationwide.

Meati

Mycelium-based startup Meati has made its first foray into the snack set with the launch of its jerky. Available in a three-flavor bundle featuring Original, Peppered and Sweet Chile varieties, the jerky provides 7 grams of plant-based protein per serving. The product is available direct-to-consumer via the brand’s website for $39. Earlier this month, the brand announced that it has received a patent for its Neurospora crassa (MushroomRoot)-based invention and will hold exclusivity on the invention until 2039.

Diamond Crystal

Diamond Crystal has unveiled its newest innovation, Fine Kosher Baking Salt. As its name suggests, the product was developed specifically for baking, featuring finer-cut crystals that dissolve, mix and blend faster into batters and doughs as compared to table salt. Diamond Crystal Fine Kosher Baking Salt is available at retailers nationwide and on Amazon for $6.99 per 8.5 oz. container.

TCHO x Equator Coffees

TCHO teamed up with Equator Coffees to create its latest chocolate innovation, the Dirty Chai bar. The new plant-based chocolate bar features masala chai, oat flour, cashew butter and, of course, Equator Coffees’ Jaguar espresso. TCHO’s Dirty Chai bar is available online for $11.99.
