Stroop Club Launches World’s First Certified Organic, Vegan, and Gluten-Free Stroopwafel
Austin - TX January 21, 2026 — Stroop Club announces the launch of the world’s first stroopwafel that is certified organic, certified vegan and certified gluten-free—a category first for the iconic Dutch cookie traditionally made with butter, eggs and wheat.
Long considered incompatible with modern dietary needs, the stroopwafel has remained largely unchanged for over a century. Stroop Club’s new formulation replaces animal-derived and gluten-containing ingredients without compromising taste, texture, or authenticity—while meeting the strict standards of independent third-party certifications.
The product is:
-
USDA Organic certified, ensuring ingredients are grown and processed without synthetic pesticides or GMOs
-
Vegan certified by Vegan.org, confirming no animal-derived ingredients or byproducts
-
Gluten-Free certified, validating compliance with rigorous gluten-free thresholds and manufacturing controls
“Most ‘better-for-you’ claims in food are self-declared,” said Stroop Club’s founder and CEO. “We chose the harder route: certification. If we put a label on our packaging, it has to be measurable, traceable, and verified.”
The launch reflects growing consumer demand for products that meet multiple dietary requirements simultaneously—without relying on vague marketing claims. According to industry data, demand for certified plant-based and gluten-free products continues to rise across both natural and conventional retail, particularly when paired with transparent sourcing and clean labels.
Stroop Club’s certified stroopwafels are made in Canada using pure, ethically sourced and organic ingredients.
In addition to the product launch, Stroop Club this year became a member of 1% for the Planet, committing one percent of annual revenue to verified environmental organizations—embedding environmental responsibility directly into its business model.
