Just when Steve Wangler thought he was out, they dragged him back in. In December, Wangler left The Good Crisp, the better-for-you Pringles clone that he’d spent seven years building into a natural products channel juggernaut. After 40 years in sales, the plan was to play his guitar at his pad in Hawaii and generally enjoy a well-earned,well-funded retirement. Instead, longtime advisee Isabella Hughes called. She’d sold Shaka Tea and was now a co-founder of Better Sour, a low-calorie sour gummy brand.
Hughes apparently made Wangler an offer he couldn’t refuse, and here we are, back in business. Rather than play guitar, he’s been called for a different encore – to once again conduct an orchestra of brokers and buyers. It just goes to show you can never be sure it’s really anybody’s last waltz – now let’s hope there’s one more great sales symphony there.
