Through A Dozen Cousins, he introduced millions of consumers to convenient, culturally authentic meals inspired by family recipes, helping prove that heritage and modern convenience could thrive side by side on grocery shelves. But his greatest impact is outside the store. As a founding partner of Project Potluck, Basir dedicated his energy to opening doors for entrepreneurs of color, creating mentorship, connections and opportunities that continue to shape the next generation of industry leaders.
