NOSH Live Pitch Slam 13: Mooski, Sunnie Named Finalists

It’s time to start revealing the players in the 13th installment of the NOSH Live Pitch Slam, a business competition for the food industry featuring emerging brands and promising founders.

The first two players in the competition are Cardiff, California-based chilled oat bar maker Mooski and Los Angeles-based snack dipper brand Sunnie.

Launched this year, Mooski aims to clean up the granola bar category with a product crafted from oats and nut butters, covered in chocolate and sweetened with agave. Mooski founder and CEO Robert Broome, who previously worked at Clio and RXBAR, previously told NOSH he hopes the brand will fill whitespace in the refrigerated bar category with its clean ingredient list and its low-sugar, low-calorie positioning.

Founded in 2020, Sunnie produces a line of better-for-you snack dippers. Available in six varieties – Hummus Dipper, Flatbread Pizza Dipper, Guac Dipper, Taco Dipper and Granola Bites + Fresh Blueberries – the snack packs were created by co-founders Katy Tucker and Lisette Howard to extend on-the-go convenience beyond the lunch box.

On Dec. 2, Mooski and Sunnie will take to the NOSH Live stage, competing against a slate of emerging brands looking to take home the win. Additional finalists will be revealed in the coming weeks. Selected by a judging panel of CPG experts, NOSH Live’s Pitch slam winner will receive a $10,000 advertising package and join the ranks of past Pitch Slam champions including Ruani, Kokada, Cocina 54, Elite Sweets, Savorly, Beckon, and Creation Nation.

The two-day NOSH Live conference will also include our Elevator Talk pitch series, Boot Camp educational workshop for startups, the opportunity to sample the latest innovations in natural food, networking time with well-connected industry leaders, and an a-list speaker lineup. We also recently announced that Rob Dyrdek will speak on investing and incubating within the food and beverage space.
