We've revealed the players in the 13th installment of the NOSH Live Pitch Slam, a business competition for the food industry featuring emerging brands and promising founders.

Our six finalists include Mooski, Sunnie, Resist Nutrition, Mindright, The Humble Seed, and Mojave Mallows. Watch them compete on December 2 at NOSH Live.

    Thuy Nguyen is a Category Manager at Thrive Market, the health-first membership for conscious living, with a mission of making healthy living easy, affordable and accessible to all. At Thrive Market, Thuy is building out the assortment in Dairy, Deli and Refrigerated Grocery in preparation for their Fresh launch. Prior to Thrive Market, she was the Forager at Good Eggs and focused her time on finding unique and differentiated grocery products to bring onto the platform.Thuy graduated summa cum laude from New York University and has over 12 years of experience working within all facets of the food industry and supply chain from farmer's market manager, to wholesale coordinator, to small business owner. Throughout her years working within food companies like Hot Bread Kitchen, FarmBox, and Good Eggs, she found the most joy in discovering small emerging brands and helping them grow. When she isn't focused on trying the latest innovative ready-to-drink beverage, she spends time baking and thinking about ways to increase representation and diversity in the food world.

    Activism, acting and entrepreneurship are in Patrick Schwarzenegger’s DNA. He thoughtfully balances each passion through his work as an Alzheimer’s advocate, actor, investor and now — food founder. As a successful entrepreneur, Patrick is known for his trend-spotting abilities in the better-for-you food and beverage industry. He’s an active investor and advisor to numerous brands in the CPG space, including the 350+ fast-casual Blaze Pizza, fastest-growing coffee company Super Coffee, the recently Unilever-acquired Liquid I.V., Simulate, and many more. Patrick is committed to helping founders scale their emerging businesses to the next level, and now he is betting on himself alongside his mother Maria Shriver to do just that with the launch of their new brain health brand MOSH.

    Amit Pandhi is the CEO of Velocity Snack Brands (VSB), a data and digital driven better-for-you snacking platform that seeks to acquire, incubate and grow a portfolio of iconic brands in the salty snacks, sweets and nutrition bar category.  VSB’s first acquisition was Popchips, one the leading better for you snack brands in North America. Amit also is Vice Chair and Founding Member of the Naturally Network, a non-profit that supports a national ecosystem to galvanize and grow the natural and organic products industry.  He sits on the Executive Committee overseeing Affiliate Growth and expansion.  Prior to joining VSB, Amit served as President and CEO of Arctic Zero, a low-calorie ice cream, bootstrapping the brand from inception to being in over 18,000 doors.  Prior to becoming an operator, he was a member of the founding team of the private equity firm, HGGC.  Pandhi currently serves as a board member and advisor for various food and CPG companies including Mike’s Hot Honey, Dang Foods and ASTR the Label.

    Jason Stamm leads category strategy and investments in emerging beverage brands as Principal in the PepsiCo Ventures Group. The PepsiCo Ventures Group is focused on identifying, securing, and nurturing PepsiCo's partnerships with emerging Food & Beverage companies, simultaneously positioning PepsiCo to capitalize on trends and strengthen marketplace positions. Jason joined PepsiCo in September, 2021. Prior to taking on this role, Jason worked at AB InBev, where he had the opportunity to take on numerous challenges globally. He previously led Innovation Strategy & Portfolio for ABI’s Europe Zone, where he focused on the growth of the company’s non-alcoholic beer portfolio across Europe. Jason was also an early member of the ABI’s global disruptive innovation unit, ZX Ventures. There, he co-founded AB InBev’s first organically developed startup, Canvas, a nutritious smoothie made with spent grain. Jason also led the development of nutritious RTDs for the South Africa and Mozambique markets. Jason earned his MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, and a B.A. in International Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Pitch Slam: Accelerating Growth with Industry Awareness and Connections

NOSH Live Pitch Slam puts brands in the spotlight. Founders craft their perfect pitch and present on the main stage to the audience, our panel of expert judges from brands, retail, investment, consulting and design and to our international livestream audience. Brands that pitch gain a certain celebrity status among attendees during the show, making conversations with experts, investors and partners happen naturally. 

After the brand pitches, our judges will provide instant feedback on market opportunity, packaging, viability and the pitch. The winner will receive the title of Pitch Slam Champion, an interview on the livestream and an awareness package valued at $10,000.

As the natural food business continues to grow, entrepreneurs are redefining categories and taking unique approaches to serving consumers with better-for-you snacking, convenience, quality and creativity. Pitch Slam is a business competition for the food industry, designed to support and showcase new products and promising founders. It focuses on the innovators and entrepreneurs designing the products of tomorrow and welcomes emerging food brands to pitch their startup on the NOSH Live stage to industry decision-makers who can open doors and help take their business to the next level.
